Ford LT 3-link fully suspension off-road mower build ( part 1)

Alright the build has started!
We took out all the old crap and cut alot of the stock Brackets away, to give us a nice bare “ish” frame to work with!
After further working on installing the front axle I came up with th idea of putting a 3-link wishbone front suspension on the mower and within the hours the gears were in motion!
Super stoked with how this build is coming!
So much work has to be done to this mower as it’s not only just getting a custom front end but the rest of the mower also need to be built “ custom”
Next episode will be installing the rest of the links and mounting brackets and starting on some tube work and engine fitment!

just picked up an old ford like this i might copy your build an do it to mine was just thinking at work would be cool to do a 3 link set up then i found this so thanks for paving the way

i made a swing arm rear axle. chain drive from stock transaxle in stock location. it is at least a foot longer . took a while to make double chain tighteners so i could have reverse . and run smaller sprockets for ground clearance .. .. i run tall narrow low air , 4 wheeler tires front. and smaller rears. nose up look. bounces well. totally rips. so fun in snow... i wish you did this build last summer. my build would have been easier.. i had to figure it out by myself . not many vid out there. .. i run a tecumseh 490. small motorcycle carb, rejetted super fat. you never seen a motor so strong. it shames all the twins.. great video .. later

I reckon your gunna need a Hiem joints on the chassis side of top arm

This is very true Somthing I over looked at first when I was building this! In the next episode I figure it out and swap over to home joint on both ends on the parallel link bars! Just to busy building and don’t think about it!

Could you do the wishbone set up with a solid front axle run it by chains and then do three in the back too
