Firstly, thanks for making the video. Secondly though, I had to play it back several times before I could figure out that you were saying "T30 Torx screws". That's an important bit of info for any home mechanic who is going to try and crawl under their Mondeo and do an oil change for the first time. It would be good to be a lot clearer with important details, especially right at the start of a video when people haven't yet tuned in to your accent. Like the other poster I also can't tell what you are using that ratchet for, but I assume you have a strap round it and are just loosening the cartridge with it? Again, thanks for making the vid, I THINK I understand what I'm in for now when doing this on wheel ramps in my driveway.

Hi Neil, thanks for the constructive feedback. I’ll be honest, some of my service videos my heart isn’t really in making them so some are really good and some might even be muted the whole way through. I hope it helps get an idea how to do the job if not much else.

@@IAMASPANNER Yeah it definitely helped, thanks, it was actually a lot easier than I expected. For anyone else in the same boat: T30 Torx to remove the plastic cover panel; loosen the cartridge filter; remove R-clip on plastic sump plug (note how the R-clip attaches, maybe take a photo, as it's not particularly obvious when you go to replace it later); get ready to get covered in oil; remove sump plug and filter; go have a shower. 🤣

What if you don't have a hoist? Will the use of wheel ramps or jacking the vehicle up at the front affect the egress of the old oil?

Mate what tool you used to take off the oil filter?
