Disclaimer : I know the mk3 2.5t and the 2.0 ecoboost are not Mondeo ST but they did not make st version of those and these engines can be found in the focus ST so it made sense to me to put them here.

compared with my Irmscher OPEL Vectra i500 (stock 194 DIN PS/ 240 Nm) I believe in your time measurement. i500 has (on paper) 0 - 100 in 8sec But real on the street my i500 has 8.5 to 9sec the information from the OPEL- factory is really very optimistic. my appriciation greets Marcel Switzerland 🇨🇭

I own an st220 and guy who services it for me specialises in "Fast Fords" and he confirms it. He says that well maintained st220 is the fastest, and the best handling Mondeo to ever leave the factory.

@@carsaccelerationstv484 with completely stock exhaust it is nothing special really, but after some tinkering it's getting waaaay better. Even simply putting on decats makes it burble very nice especially on cold start. When stock my old Ford Cougar 2.5V6 (same engine as st200) sounded better.

@@CrazySteve42012 Read the last sentence I've written. There are 220 projects with over 400hp in Poland with 4x4, that would "wipe the floor" with that remapped 2.5t. The point is about "factory speed".

@@arturwaligora501 mine already has 380. Few bolt on mods, cost about £1500 all in. So much better than an st220. So much easier to make big power from the 2.5t than the 3.0

Not really , I would say MK4 has a timeless design , its true the ST220 is the fastest , there is no replacement for displacement , MK4 misses a V6 to be the ideal Mondeo but design wise the MK4 looks amazing even today after 17 years , Ford did a fantastic job with this one

most mk5 hve a diffrent engine map when driving on "S" and not "D", i am not sure about which ones have that but mine goes from 240 on "D" to 270 on "S" but you have to enaable some map choosing setting in the onboard control panel. So it could do much better than just 7.9

@@carsaccelerationstv484 official time for the MK4 2.5T is also 7.3s iirc but maybe that's 60mph not 100km/h (62mph) It's been a great car to live with practicality and ride wise vs the ST220.

Yeah they're the same car, I must admit I didn't know about this engine, it would definitely be a better car for Mondeo ST successor !

@@carsaccelerationstv484 well the 2.7L TT V6 engine was offered in the North American market in the Fusion Sport trim as the performance variant, with 320 or so hp on tap and only with AWD and an auto trans. Dunno if the 2.7 TT V6 ever crossed the Atlantic tho. The previous Ford Fusion Sport (a different car altogether not sharing anything significant with the Euro Mondeo) came with the largest displacement V6 then on offer (I think 3 5L with 260 or so h0) with either FWD or AWD and also only an auto trans.
