Ford Ranger 2.9 Cherry Bomb Muffler Vs Straight Pipe!

I just picked one of these up from a field in Washington state. Thinking about doing a series of me just building it from the ground up.

When I hear those glass packs, I always think to myself... If you ran two of them... I feel like it would sound right. Just run one right after the other

I agree, actually I took it off and switched to the Flowmaster 40 muffler! I’m gonna try and get a vid tomorrow!

Just bought an 88 2.9 l straight piped things straight obnoxious aha one of things I’m gonna do in run some pipe

I’ve only done the radiator on mine, and got it from a buddy, wasn’t too hard to install

Is this a stock 2.9l v6 nothing done to it? No exhaust work except for muffler etc?

Yep other than the K&N intake, it just has the cherry bomb!

No it only has one tank

Is the cherry bomb noticeably quieter than straight pipe?

Not exactly quieter, just more mellow in certain gears! I guess it did quiet down a little when I added more pipe after it! Ha

Do you have any backpressure or any sort of issues with the cherry bomb on the ranger?

It has a little more throttle response compared to the straight pipe.
