Great commentary and camera work. Interesting look into the ford ranger 3.2. Don’t forget as per ford bulletin for ford ranger 3.2 diesel as well as Mazda BT 50, that oil change must be performed in ten minutes when doing regular oil change. In this case after rebuild or exceeding the ten minute time for regular oil change, they say to fill 15 litres and allow engine to stand for a full day 24 hours. Then use 6 bar compressed air pressure through a breather hose to put pressure into system when you see oil come through open oil filter housing. Watch the oil filter housing for any oil pushing through, this is an indicator that the oil pump is full and primed. Refit oil filter. Reconnect the battery Crank the engine in ten sec intervals Leave the oil cap off and observe the oil pushing up over the hydraulic lifters Secure oil filter and cap DO NOT REV THE ENGINE! DO NOT DRIVE THE VEHICLE! Drain the engine of excess oil. Ensure you do not exceed 10 minutes Close the sump screw with a new sump washer Check that the oil pressure light is off( allow 5 seconds) Remove the oil cap to ensure oil is flowing over the hydraulic lifters.

Have to change oil within 10mins or risk losing oil pressure due to pump design. Egr can leak coolant into rear cylinder causing bent conrod.
