I've got a Raptor and absolutely love it. Had Landcruiser utes and a hilux 4x2. But the raptor is a pleasure to drive and ride quality is like a sedan. No complaints fords hit the nail on the head with this one.

This is actually how I wanted a review of it. Can I fit the kids. Does it drive well. Do I get a silly noise that makes me giggle when I put it into sport mode. Most men are too precious and have to grrr, spit and scratch their balls when reviewing a car despite never using any of them for how they were intended. Ford have made a more road focused pickup and she has reviewed it as intended. (just my humble O).

Raptors are designed for desert racing. The Ranger Raptor is the small version designed for outside of NA. Newest variant at least has the option of a 3L v6.

Had a demo in one. engine is underwhelming got Mx bike as well you would have to put the back wheel of bike on tailgate when transporting also higher up so would be a little more tricky loading & unloading than my Navara is.other than that and the £50,000 almost.it’s the nuts.

Well boys and girls, go drive one!!! I've run Toyotas, Dodges and Fords in Canada. I had a logging buisness and used my trucks to the point of bending frames and replacing many transmissions. I was also a weekend warrior deep in the woods with quads and cut apart VW Beetles, shortened of course. For twenty years I now live in German doing IT work. I'll retire in the next 10 years and it is time to have my retirement vehicle in my yard. I've been afoot driving Nissan, Mitubishi, Toyota, and VW offerings. Amaroks set the price bar to that of a Raptor here in Germany. Yes, on paper the Raptor the Raptor will not make you smile but like Rebecca and I that vehicle will put a silly little smile on your face every day you sit up in it. Beautifully well done FORD!! For a retired Canadian Logger Boy living in Germany you have hit the nail on the head. The FORD Raptor has become my dream truck!!!!!

It's built to be an off-road car it has ridiculously great purpose built off-road suspension with lots of travel, you can't have that and take a heavy payload as well. That's not what they built it for, It's not aimed at people that need to tow or carry heavy cargo!

It's hardly a monster truck. It's only slightly longer than the average SUV like a Land Rover/Range Rover. Yeah, stupid idea if you live in, or commute to a city - but if you're in the countryside, and/or work on a industrial estate it'd be fine. Probably also good for tradesmen who don't need the towing capacity and want to make an impression on clients over the standard white-van-man.

So many people missing the point of this, it’s different, appeals to a different market and is far better at certain things than other pickups. It’s not the fastest pickup by any means but when can you safely drive a 2.5t vehicle fast in the uk or anywhere else? Give it a couple of years and all vehicles are going to be automatically restricted to the national speed limit anyway, at least in a raptor you will be doing it in style, comfort and in something other than a boring estate or saloon!

It has a great gearbox from the F150 just not so great an engine, 2L bi turbo diesel ? As a ranger owner I can honest, say nice looking truck but no way a raptor ! Leave that title to the F150 this one should be called urban sport. “It’s no Raptor & it takes more than Fox shocks to do that!”

put the 3.2 from the wildtrak in the ranger raptor, with some decent tuning and you have a winner of a car. The 2l are shit engines, and longevity will be none existent, dragging all that weight around will take its toll down the line.

0:40 - I'd hardly call it a "high performance" anything. 0-60 in over 10 seconds? There's a reason why things like this in the USA are fitted with V6 Turbos and V8 engines. Having the aerodynamics of a small potting shed doesn't matter when you're rocking 400bhp, but it's kinda important when you've only got 200 fairly lazy ponies. That aside, I think it's a nice looking truck and I bet it's comfortable, safe and pleasant to own. I do think it's drastically overpriced at 40k, though. and to be honest anyone wanting it enough to spend 40k on it probably would be willing to put up with the fuel consumption of a decent V6 engine in exchange for good performance and a nice sound track.

It's not that slow with a couple of clever mods. Pedal commander is the first which helps with the sluggy nature of acceleration lower down. ECU tune if its been cracked yet or a ecu chip box if not. Honestly, nowhere in the UK or most of europe are you flooring it baja style in a truck like this and then there's fuel prices. We can't afford v8's over here anymore unless our pockets are heavy due to fuel prices/taxes which sucks. Sounds like they're going with a 3l v6 twin turbo for the next gen though which should fix it's most glaring issue.

This review totally missed the point of the car! The short comings of the car are for a reason, it's not built to be a full on heavy duty work vehicle it's built to be a seriously fun & capable off roader which has been pretty much missed here! While it's not got sports car power which is silly to compare and not what they were trying to build, it's has plenty of pull and goes real well and definitely fast enough to have a hell of a lot of fun in! Also no mention of the ride quality, it's probably the smoothest ride you will get out of any off road vehicle! So those who are looking for a fun/work 4x4 and not needing to tow 3.5t and how many actually do? Will really enjoy the quiet but pretty quick engine, very smooth gear changes & very comfortable ride that you would only get in a family style car and still struggle to find one that matches the ride quality! @@stephenchigwidden7504 Here in the U.S. the Ranger gets the EcoBoost 2.3L rated at 270bhp and scoots to 60mph(depending on bodystyle) anywhere from 6.7 to 7.5 seconds. We also get the super cab version with 2 standard doors & 2 "suicide style" rear doors. Supposedly the U.S. will get a Raptor version, but engine spec hasn't been released. I'm sure it'll be well north of 300bhp.

Iff its made in America you might be in with a chance but most of these cars are built in Asia . I think Thailand make a lot of cars buf I think the Rangers are made in India. They are very popular here with most people opting for the 3•2 but its not a performance motor. A single cab 2•3 would find a few buyers here I'm sure especially as our own car industry is now gone and all the relatively cheap fast cars with it. I don't think I'd be interested iff I lived in America I'd rather have a muscle car.

@@stephenchigwidden7504 Yeah, it has to be because of the RHD spec, being RHD, the version sold globally in that configuration has to be kept to a particular receipe. Turbo-diesel makes sense where fuel prices are high and/or gasoline quality is low. Isn't fuel around $8USD per gallon in the UK? We're between $3-4 a gallon stateside, so our engine options reflect that. Funny how things change in 30-40 years time. The U.S. used to get the "watered down" version of Asian & European vehicles, now we get the premium version with all the bells & whistles and horsepower to match. Cheers!

@@05gtdriver well it was in Europe's interest to have good quality fuel simply to use less and have less money leaving the country but in recent years they have gone diesel crazy and the tax system is not friendly to big engines. The vw golf was just starting to become a popular car here and then they started coming out with ridiculously small engines and now you hardly ever see one. I think that iff they don't make world models and instead keep trying to sell us cars that suit a tax system we don't have they might lose their cheaper cars. That's what the English motor industry did and Only the brands that didn't build to a fuel price and concentrated on exports are left.

There's a reason Ford don't sell the F250 and F350 etc here - no-one (or, very very few) would want them - they're ridiculously big, and unsuitable for our roads and car-parks. Their fuel efficiency is laughable, and US car interiors seem more plasticky than European cars, from my experience. Plus, since Brexit, US/Asian cars are only going to get more expensive as we're no longer in the World's biggest trading bloc, with their buying power...

I would suggest you drive it before commenting on the motor, I'm glad I drive it because yes I was skeptical but now I'm a lover! It's got plenty of power and the 10-speed auto is so much better than the old six It's not funny! It's smooth quiet and powerful everything more current ranger isn't, The engine and transmission updates are excellent in my experience with it!
