ford ranger shift knob replacement

How has it held up? I'm thinking of replacing mine too. Mine isn't broken like yours it's just all slippery because of how bad it's worn. Does it move at all once you put it on?

It's held up great so far but as of now I just replace it with a Hurst short throw shifter witch is much nicer it feels great its not all sloppy as the stock shifter

Is there anyway you can thread the end of the shifter to put a threaded shift knob on or will you just have to buy a whole new shifter

Nope u gotta buy a new shifter I just replaced mine with a Hurst short throw shifter there's maybe a limited amount of knobs that will fit the stock shifter

HEAT... from a hair dryer or heat-gun is the key to BOTH removing old one, and installing new knob... HEAT activates/loosens the glue. Fvck FoMoCo for NOT using a proper THREADED stem and SET SCREW on the knob... otherwise a great truck, but they nickeled out with that glue-on shift knob BS.

Lol I hate that ford did this on the rangers and obs trucks. I have a ranger and f150, on the f150 I have a custom billet shift knob with set screws but was just trying to find something cheap to put on ranger and remembered nothing exists practically
