Before FMC had an IT department, my grandfather, Robert E. Houston, was the IT department. He was #1 at the steel mill and #4 at Willow Run…

Lots and lots of misleading PR here. The Rouge facility used to be 2,000 acres. According to what I read recently, it now is 600 acres. Ford "PROGRESS" means selling off the steel production plant that used to be there and all the associated land/river front that goes with it and the power plant that used to support the entire facility. Don't know about glass and upholstery that also used to be done at the Rouge. This plant employed 103,000 employees at its peak. How many work there now. Ford has "heavily outsourced" as "Progress". TOTALLY 180 degrees from Henry Ford's thinking and efforts. While it's super "high tech" with 40 second work tasks and 10 second "re-group" periods between tasks, The Rouge is a fraction of what it once was.

Those aren't pickup trucks. They are SUVs with a small bed to toss in a couple bags of topsoil. A real truck has an 8 ft bed for hauling drywall and plywood. $6 gasoline is killing the economy

It's not a lie, it can be seen from the observation platform during the plant tour.

Actually, it is a green roof made up of sedum which is a succulent plant. It retains water like a cactus and does not grow tall which makes it fairly easy to maintain.
