I watched this video hoping you would say what kind of socket is needed to pull the bed bolts. The bolts have a very strange looking ahead.

They are torx bit but I can’t remember the size.

Should have replaced your fuel pump when the bed was removed. And put a excess hole in the flat bed to change it out.

Good idea except there’s no fuel pump in the tank. It’s a fuel sending unit. The lift pump is on the frame rail

I appreciate the video. So aside from the tail light wiring and gas tank tube it was just six bolts from the top? You didn't need to get underneath and disconnect anything? How heavy would you say the bed was, how many guys would estimate could lift it off?

1/2&Half Yep, just the top bolts, wiring and fuel filler neck. I would say not much more than 200lbs. I could easily lift one corner my self. I would say 3 guys to lift it off just because of how long the bed is. Thanks for watching!

Yes I don’t think a lot changed in the beds other than the tailgate design. I believe 17 is when the new body style came out

I’ll have to double check the tool later but I’m pretty sure it was a torx T55.

@@CenTexAg I’ve been searching and not having success finding the correct tool. My truck is a 19 and calls for a EP24 plus but the ones I have found don’t fit ..

I’m out of town so I can’t run out to my shop and check right away but I know I broke one and Oriellys Auto had the impact version torx stocked on there shelf. I’m not sure if they changed the bolt design from the 2016 to the 17&up models. You can always weld a nut to the top of each bolt and use a standard socket and impact to remove them if you have a welder. I think they are a one time use bolt anyway.
