Ford Transit 2.2 TDCI Engine Rebuild - Part 1

The Engine had knocking noise, turned out to be piston 3 getting stuck in the engine block and the connecting rod breaking the sump spacer and the block.

Thank you. Gives me a good insight in what I'm going to have to do on my transit engine. Does anyone know where i can get the pistons and bearings, gaskets and crank shells from at a reasonable price?

Very nice. Thanks for posting that. Just a quick question, would the engine fitted on boxer euro 4 be the same as euro 5? I'm referring only specifically to the block and compression , as I know the rocker cover and injectors, HPFP ,intake manifolf and other accessories are different

Hi I have just taken my engine out on my ford transit (it's a 2.4 model) I got a Haynes manual and it says to measure crankshaft endfloat with DTI Gauge, is this a necessity? Thanks
