However I'd I like to know where I cam drilling without having to take the vans interior fully apart. If you could help or at least point me in the right direction that would be excellent.

@@Waldochs Wait, you mean 64.75" right? Distance between wheel wells on a single RW model is 54.8", so there's no way distance between walls could be 54.75". Also, FYI on future videos, distance between walls is one of the most important specs for many people, whether using these vans for cargo, conversion or otherwise.
@evankolpack3 жыл бұрын
Just found the correct measurements in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/f6K1iqdomLyHmqs She measures 69" width at floor and up to first support rails, 75" width at outer sheet metal just above rails. As walls start to curve, dimensions change from there. Watch video for full breakdown, it's extremely detailed.

@jasonfrade11174 жыл бұрын
Super helpful video! One thing I noticed is that you measured the height at a few different points and each height was different; 80.5 at the center, 73 at the rear door opening, 77.5 at the side near the wheelbase, and 65 at the side to the beam. My guess is that these different heights have something to do with the slight curve of the transit? I was wondering if you measured the widths at each point so we could get a more accurate idea of where the tallest and shortest points are in the van? Thanks so much!
@Waldochs4 жыл бұрын
Yes, it has to do with the curvature of the body when it comes to the measurements from the interior. Door openings are always smaller and hard to give an exact figure because they are not a perfect rectangle or square. I do my best to measure the doors at the widest and tallest points but you could easily measure other spots and loose an inch or more. The van height is the same through out the cargo area until you get to the cab as the roof comes down on the cab. Otherwise the heights are the same through out the entire cab area.

@@Waldochs I have re watched your measuring videos. I see the slight difference is at the back door. George of Humble Road is a van builder. The rear sofa can move around and can be take out and with the sofa you have about 30-35” deep of space and 6’ tall. We sell nets so you can stack luggage up to get as much as you can too. The net steps the luggage from falling forward.

How about space between rear dually tires? Can I put larger/wider tires in the back? Also why did Ford include different tires front and back for the 2020? Can I upgrade to all same tire size?
@Waldochs4 жыл бұрын
David, for space between the wheel wells that's in the video. Do you mean on the ground? You could do slightly wider with the rear tires but not by much. Reasoning for the difference in tire size has to do with fuel economy, wheel well spacing, and load rating. With the dually it makes sense the tires are larger in the rear to support more weight. I don't believe it would be recommended to upgrade the 350HD to be all the same tire size.

I have one more request. I *believe* the sliding passenger door is 1300mm long (51.2"), but does that start at 0" from the front? 0" of the 166" useable length, so that the distance between the back (stern) and hole where the sliding door goes is 166 - 51 inches or 115"??? Is that correct? THANK YOU!
@Waldochs3 жыл бұрын
Measurements are tricky with doors, because they can be measured in multiple locations and come up with different dimensions. These dimensions in our videos are ballpark dimensions. Not definitive. If you want definitive numbers, I would look for CAD drawings. The dimensions we provide are to help aid in the initial sketches of your van build. When it comes to doors, we try to find the most useable space as our measurement location. Not the smallest opening or largest, but the area in which you will get the most useable area.

Nice video thanks for measuring. The measurements I do most are from back door to front seats to see how long the cargo can be and have the back doors closed, and ceiling height for walking inside. One more measurement I would have liked to see is the ground clearance. Other than that, good video.

@Waldochs4 жыл бұрын
Like trucks, it's 1/2, 3/4, 1 ton. As you go up the abilities to tow and have a larger payload capacity goes up. 150 is like an everyday truck, it's not meant to be constantly towing but it can tow when needed. The 250 and 350 are meant to tow, handle more weight on a regular basis. Depending on what you want to do with you van, it will decide which one best suites your needs.
