I had a 2002 Ford Tourneo due to having 5 children. I absolutely loved it especially with its liftùp back door which served as a great shelter to sit under or to set up my camping cooker to feed my family whilst away from home. It was the best bus I had and I regret selling it. It would’ve made a great dayvan x camper conversion.

These Transits are always used as recovery vehicles. Many of them are straight piped too

I like the versions fitted with the twin airbags, air conditioning, anti submarine seats, and power steering.
@acebull74083 жыл бұрын
The airbags are optional tho
@anthonyperkins75563 жыл бұрын
@@acebull7408 They were, but later on with the Mk5 Transit, driver and passenger airbags became standard on Tourneo (mini-bus) models and the driver airbag became standard on the van and pick-up versions with the passenger airbags optional.

Seemed to make a difference the kind of axle ratio they had for how fast they went, I know there were different ones.

I drove one of these as a refrigerated box van for 2 years...it was a thoroughly defeated Diesel version. It was such a sorry pile of limp garbage that my remarkably cheap daily beater (still got it 12 years later - a 1990 Mazda E-Series van) seemed like a Bentley in comparison. I hated that Transit so much...the stink of it is still in my nostrils.
@richard29415 Жыл бұрын
That's really unusual for a Transit! What was wrong with it?
@saxongreen787 ай бұрын
@@richard29415...noisy, cheap fittings, barely anything worked properly, gutless engine and big blind spots. (Granted, the owners didn't take care of it.)

I don't get why most of these were naturally aspirated Diesels, and the turbo-Diesel version was rare.
@andyb3666 Жыл бұрын
They were more expensive. Much nicer to drive though, especially the extra rare intercooled 115hp version.
@charliemccahill2131 Жыл бұрын
The 115hp intercooled engine came out in 1998 as it had a grille on the left wing
@RWL20129 ай бұрын
oh yeah it was a cost thing, thanks.

The Turbo models had a Lucas EPIC electronic injector pump with engine management
@joaomatos91945 жыл бұрын
Great van,but the best deal is a 2.5 D. The turbo version is problematic,the eletronic injection pump breack down usualy. The repair coasts arround 800€.
