Wow thats a nice kit! impressed that the bedside and inner comes together like that, that saves a lot of welding, just curious is all the metal and stamping Chinese? I remember back in the day the Chinese stuff didn’t fit good at all. As a body man myself for 40 years I would paint and undercoat the complete underside of the bed and the backside of bedsides. One of my bucket list projects is to completely restore 78/79 ford truck and drop a coyote V8 with a automatic transmission in it with all the modern electronics on a 6 inch lift.

You should put in the good word for me and many others… They need to sell short bed (73-79) bedsides outer panel alone. All they have rn is the bedside assembly. I see this as a major problem, I’ve tried reaching out to them but they don’t seem to care, it’s also kinda dumb because they sell the short bed inner alone… but no outer skin alone.

@jeremybennett5547

Many manufactures are beginning to advise against weld through primer in repair procedures now. It does affect the weld quality and in all honesty the area around the weld itself burns the paint off anyway. Something like cavity wax is your best bet after welding

Heres the best method ive found to use weld through primer. Doesn't matter if its zinc or copper... store the can on its side so nothing settles on the bottom of the can. Start shaking it upside down. As you shake it, slowly rotate the can until its upright. Once its ready to spray, make sure all the surfaces are clean. Now, throw the can in the trash. Weld it up and use seam sealer.

@@FordEra on what planet lol? A entire short bed from AMD is 3 grand, when you find original beds that aren’t rusted, they are typically 500-1000. At least where’s I’m from in Washington state.
@FordEra
@FordEra 10 ай бұрын
brother, you and i are about to be rich men. heres the deal email me at SL@fordera.com with every single $500-1000 rust free bed and ill buy it and give you $500 on top then ill go sell them for the value whcih is $3000/7500 depending where in you live. Yes i have sold beds for $7500 before and not just once. Now have you in the past found a 500 bed yes, have i yes. does that mean its not worth it. no it just means we got lucky and got a deal. Seriously ill buy any bed you find for that price@@fatdan172501
