These trucks are always tested in Australia, and Asia (Philippines, Malaysia etc) first then the UK and then the US. -This is probably the hottest truck in Australia especially with the diesel options now. I am also expecting a hybrid version of this soon and maybe they will wait for that for the American market. A diesel hybrid with AC generator and battery options would be exceptional for Australia. Besides the diesels the options for this will probably be 80% of what the US gets.

Considering Ford are now fitting the Wildtrak Sports Bar on to the Raptor, make sure you check for gaps under the side profile of the sports bar just above the rear lights. For every Wildtrak that doesn't have a gap, there is another one with the gap on at least one side (if not both) which is caused by nothing less than lazy slapdash workmanship at the factory with the fitting of rivet nuts in to the body of the rear tub. I was left with no other option than to remove my PX3 Wildtrak sports bar in order to rectify the defect myself after being given the usual excuse by Ford that.... "It's just a characteristic of the vehicle". If you can see daylight between the two surfaces as well as being able to see the underside of the seal which should actually be closed up nice and tight against the body of the rear tub, then this is a defect. Ford has been churning out the Wildtrak in the thousands over recent years without this defect ever being detected at Quality Control or being rectified. The extremely poor installation of those rivet nuts at the factory is the direct cause of the defect and I am amazed that Ford has never taken action to retrain their workers as to how those rivet nuts (which are installed by hand) should be correctly fitted. It doesn't even appear to matter if you have either Thailand produced Wildtrak or a South African variant, the result is generally the same. They throw those rivet nuts in so quick without any care or attention to detail which causes the sports bar to then not seat correctly against the body of the rear tub.

@@rob6310 carefully run your eye along the joint line where the Wildtrak sports bar is jointed to the rear tub. If it starts to open up towards the rear tip just above the rear lights then this is a defect. Some don't have this defect whilst others have the defect ranging from a very slight gap to a very large gap where you can see daylight between the 2 surfaces. When I removed my sports bar to try and find what was causing the gap, I was amazed at the state of the rivet nuts (3 on each side) which were bent out of shape as well as the metalwork on the top of the tub being twisted. It looked like an absolute dogs breakfast. Unfortunately, once those rivet nuts have been inserted incorrectly, you have little choice than to completely remove them and drill straight through the bottom of the upper box section and introduce a standard bolt and nylon lock nut. If you were to replace with a bigger rivet nut, then you would have to also drill out the sports bar in order to take a larger bolt. Hence why that isn't really an option. The end result was that the sports bar is now closed up nice and tight with no gaps, exactly as it was designed to be fitted. However, nobody should have to do that work themselves on a brand new vehicle which should have never left the factory in that condition in the first place. Hope you're reading this FORD!
