Please talk about acceptable condition to sell: dings chips scratches. When is a club considered too damaged to re-sell? cleaning clubs and head covers. measuring - how to, and dry rot - what to look for. Possibly grip condition. When you need to say it needs to be re-gripped. What is the difference between woods and drivers? I learned so much and feel more confident. I saved your video and took good notes. Thank you!

I was thinking that if you closed the first tube and created a hole for the shaft, (along with the newspaper) then put the club head with the bubble wrap in the smaller top....the shaft could stay centered because of the hole instead of removing the first "lid". Mike, I live in Naples,FL and I am a former LPGA Teaching Professional. Just opened my 2nd Store on eBay selling Clubs, Golf Clothes, shoes etc. it’s a HOTBED down here for Golf! My question is, don’t you find it less expensive to ship clubs via UPS using a regular club box as opposed to Priority? I have ran the scenarios and UPS usually wins out. Thank you! PS- where are you located?
@vinyl1Earthlink3 жыл бұрын
One thing that might be useful in buying clubs is a basic knowledge of when each series was made and sold. If you're looking at a TaylorMade Burner Bubble, or a Nike Sasquatch, or a Ping Rapture, you're looking at an older club that is not worth as much as the latest models. As you say, putters are a different matter.
@goldenstatepicker3 жыл бұрын
After a while you can tell what is older looking pretty easily. Especially on drivers when the heads were much smaller. I tell a bag of clubs in 3 seconds if anything has potential. Then again I've been playing 45 years.

Hey Mike how is the best way to ship an entire set of clubs with the bag included?
@goldenstatepicker2 жыл бұрын
Just ship them inside the bag. The key is the box and that is always the hard part. A golf bag always seems to cost me $50. Ca. to Florida LOL. Use the Ebay calculator. If you search Google it will pop up and you can then check the dimensions and weight to every city. That gives you a good Idea of the price you would be paying. Might be a better calculated shipping item. Pre-box it and you will be ready to go as soon as it is sold.

Hey, if you got a full set of irons (Like say a set of ping eye2 green dots or whatever.) is it smarter to part them out or sell as a set? Not sure where to get those long square boxes.
@goldenstatepicker3 жыл бұрын
My thought on the older ping eye 2's and zing's is to go for the sets at first. Try the set. EX 2-Wedge then if that doesn't work go 4- wedge and sell the 2 iron and 3 iron. Most older ping sets sell for $125-$175 at best. If you are lucky to have the W and U wedge they might go for a few dollars.

The problem with changing grips is some people prefer their own. There are hundreds of styles. Also, the cost of one grip these days is $8-$12 on average. That doesn't include the grip tape etc. So I say just disclose that they will need new grips and sell them that way.

At least I sold a baseball bat for $10 FYI to everyone else they had these at the Goodwill stores and they were priced at seven dollars apiece I think they would only be personal use not resell you would be able to resell it and ship it and make any money off of one club and loss it was really good and really new and super cool!!
