ForeFlight Feature Focus: Taxi Routing

I love it! With a little practice I think I could enter this as I receive the clearance and read it back from the flight plan. Very nice work!

That is Amazing!! it was only yesterday that I was watching a VasAviation video, where the pilot got lost while taxiing. The immediate thought that came to my mind was a navigation system within foreflight, and to my surprise, I receive a newsletter from you guys announcing this feature.

You can basically delete Pro Plus plans because only Performance gets new features.

I'm not sure if it will help with a complicated taxi clearance where there's barely enough time to jot down the details; trying to find the buttons to "type" the equivalent of this feature will not work out in my opinion as it takes too long, and compliance with the taxi instruction is usually expected right away. But it could be a handy feature during before flight / before landing preparations. Not sure though why this would be a premium feature, I would include it in the basic package. Lastly, please use official airport markup color schemes for all things taxi/rwy to understand the buttons faster.

There's no rush. Simply record the first letter of the taxiway when copying the clearance. Or learn to type just the letter in the scratchpad section on the box. For a hold short, place a vertical line or slash in front of the hold short spot. For example - TBG / Y means "Tango, Bravo, Golf, hold short of Yankee" If needed, highlight the chart with your finger, especially the hold short point. I've flown all over the world and the more they push, the slower I go. Mind YOUR ticket.

It isn't ForeFlights job to ensure you're safe, its yours. If you think it's necessary or it can add to your situational awareness then purchase it.

Great new feature but how do I do an intersection departure on a runway. EFD, GA almost always gets 17R at taxiway B. Hooks, Taxiway F is shut down at H. If you need beta testers in Houston....hit me up! ;)

Taxi Routing is only available with Performance Plus subscription plans, so the ForeFlight Labs option won't appear if you don't have that subscription. You might also need to update to the latest app version (released this morning) if you haven't already.

I wondered when something like this was going to come out. A "trace" option would be even more awesome, just swipe your finger along the taxiways. Bummed this isn't in basic though.

Thanks for the feedback - you can still use Map Annotations to draw out your taxi route on the map using your finger, with or without the new Taxi Route feature.
