NEURO TENNIS MASTERCLASS - tennishacker.krtra.com/t/SBUz...
In this video I explain forehand biomechanics and timing in detail as well as show you my left handed forehand training session as I try to become a 5.0 player.
The key to hitting with power and consistency is using your kinetic chain at the right time in relation to the ball you are dealing with. Every ball is different, which is what makes this so hard. So I also explain what training you might need to do off the court, to improve your timing when you play tennis.

It's always good to get this kind of stripped-down, easy to understand instruction. Too many people dress up their videos unnecessarily and it's tougher to see the whole package. Awesome!

Wow- A natural righty turned lefty-some amazing effort and training. Very natural and smooth form. All the best in the tournament. Good luck. Inspiring.

One thing that helped me was to consciously push hard INTO the ground with balls of my back foot (the forefoot) to initiate the uncoiling of the groundstroke, especially on the forehand side. This seems to ensure I get the correct sequence of the kinetic chain without having to think about anything. Give it a try. I still can't believe how well you play on your non dominant side Richard. You're a #####ing beast!!!!

Thanks, thats one of the main things i’m focusing. It’s surprisingly hard to get used to doing it. Especially if i’m moving back.

You could grow your upper peck without lifting exercise (because your injury ). You can flex infront of a mirror until you muscle mind connect with the upper peck only and flex it and iso hold the flex. It will grow it quick. Thanks for your videos boss.

Mourataglou is a fan of leading with the fist before the shoulder and using that chain and drive, kinetic energy to further propel it from behind rather than to lead it. See his throw the racquet video among many others. Thoughts? I’ve personally been hitting tremendously better after following his method vs the more traditional though that racquet goes last.

If Patrick's coaching cues have helped you to improve your forehand, then that demonstrates the validity of the coaching cue. But in terms of the kinetic chain, it always starts from the ground up. It's not unique to tennis, it's the same in all rotational sports like golf, baseball, boxing etc.

Really good considering it’s your left arm. You’re rotating too much though. Compare your’s to Mussetti - he stops rotation before contact (then lets momentum drag him around slightly but that’s after racket has finished), you rotate through contact, arm not very free swinging. This might be because you move your arm into a weak position right before rotation so you can’t accelerate arm well. It starts correctly (arm extends back with drop) but then you let the arm fall into the body BEFORE rotation so you have weak leverage, need to keep arm extended back as racket falls (or think about pulling racket from further back).

Thanks, but this is one of the problems with the way coaching is going these days. I started using my non dominant hand in my 40’s and in total playing time it’s been about 18 months of practice. With how long i’ve been practicing i’m pleased with the progress. I’m steadily improving every month. The way i’m doing that is by working through things sequentially. In all of my other videos i’ve been working on movement to the ball and spacing. Now i’ve finally started to add more rotation into my preparation. But i’m still working on the preparation. As i get more reps in i’ll gradually try to smooth out the timing and sequencing. It’s important for people to understand that you can only work on so many things at once. If I were to focus on the things you describe, it would stop my progression because i’m still working on the phases of the shot that come before it.

If you are new, timing takes a while to work on. If you’ve been playing a long time, it will come down to either visual or coordination limitations. Often both.
