South Africa is a beautiful country. I just wish there was less corruption, So the finances can cater better for those who are really in poverty. We pay tax for those services. We can't praise only the beauty and forget those who are less fortunate by the doing of our corrupt government. WE CAN DO WAY BETTER

Thanks Kish.. We South Africans need to hear the brighter side of things here.. Yes.. we do have our shortcomings on the side of the ruling party especially, that are seriously hindering the progress and wellbeing of many of out communities. High levels of poverty and the heavy influx of undocumented foreigners also, are adding fuel to a fire. Critiques of the country often overlook this aspect.. Thanks for a balanced take of the situation in our beloved land..

As a South African and as a local (living in Pretoria), I'm very happy that you had a good time here! 😃🥰FYI: my hubby is Swedish, so I've been to Sweden many times over the last almost 20 years to visit my in-laws there and I have also had to get used to taking off my shoes every time I come back inside after I've been outside, which I find very annoying, haha! I still cannot get used to it, no matter how many times I visit family in Sweden! The reason why they do this is because there are no domestic helpers/workers in Sweden and you have to clean everything yourself. Also, it usually snows or rains outside all the time (they have a terrible climate compared to ours), meaning that you cannot come into their homes and bring all that snow/mud into their homes. They even have this rule for gyms, where you have to take off your shoes and then put on your actual tekkies with which you want to exercise. If you rent a holiday cabin in Sweden, you must clean it up yourself and take out the trash to a special place before you can leave, otherwise you will be given a very expensive fine for not doing it! It's also true that no one says grace (prays) before a meal in Sweden. At least 80% of the Swedish population is atheist/agnostic. The tap water in Sweden, no matter where you go, is of course perfectly safe to drink. And you will notice that Kish is used to walking A LOT (he was walking the whole time while he was recording) and that is because people in Sweden mostly walk everywhere, when they are not using the bus or the train, so they are generally more fit and much less overweight than South Africans in general, haha!

@maruskaehrensdorfer
@maruskaehrensdorfer 2 ай бұрын
@@delialubke6610exactly! And domestic workers and gardeners are treated like 💩in South Africa. That's why no one in general can afford one in Sweden, because if you employ someone to clean your house and/or tend to your garden, you have to pay them a decent salary with benefits. It's also incredibly expensive to eat out in a restaurant in Sweden, because the waiter's salary & benefits are included in the prices on the menu, so you don't have to tip.

Hi Kish...just recently saw your video......Yes, South Africa is surprisingly very liberal and accommodating, I guess due to its painful oppressive human rights past.....however, the sad thing is that selfish people take unfair advantage of this......e.g. some people end up just having babies just so they can benefit, etc sadly so...such is the selfish nature of some people....the problem with SA law is that it is naive to the extent that it simply assumes that all people are well meaning...when in fact the opposite is true.

@@Mankind0112 What is a van known as in South Africa? A bakkie is popular due to its ability to transport small to medium loads around easily and efficiently. In addition to this, they can easily be used as a family vehicle. Many businesses also rely on a bakkie or a fleet of bakkies for their day to day operations.(From google,but I have always known it as that all along, google agrees)

There’s in excess of 60 million people in South Africa with diverse cultures, creeds and religions so what goes for the one may not apply to the other. Generally though, what his says is true but not 100%

STOP....giving some false information. Don't come to SA to give birth because you will be disappointed. Your child will NOT be deemed South African. Yes we love our brothers and sisters in the diapora but please come legally and not to be a burden to our resources.

Sadly not all roads in SA are free of potholes. First time I hear about free houses for poor people. Someone is telling you fairy stories. Many tax payers have left and are leaving SA because of gov corruption, so who knows how long gov will still have money for the millions of social pensions. Love your accent.

You clearly don’t know anything if this is the first time you heard about free houses in SA. That is true. He didn’t say there aren’t potholes, he said the roads he has seen is good. Literally every country has potholes. Which country doesn’t have government corrupt? You are obsessed with painting a negative image about South Africa.
