It is price paid in domestic currency in order to get foreign currency Ex $1=Rs. 78 There are three types of foreign exchange rate system 1. Fixed foreign exchange rate system (fixed by the govt.) 2. Flexible or floating foreign exchange rate system (it is depended on demand and supply) 3. Manageg floating foreign exchange rate system (it is mixed of fixed foreign exchange rate system and flexible foreign exchange rate system and also known as dirty floating) There is inverse relationship between foreign exchange and demand when foreign exchange increases then demand decrease and vice-versa Demand of foreign exchange rate ● To purchase of goods and services from the rest of the countries ● To purchaseof assets ● Payment of international loans There is direct relationship between foreign exchange rate and supply when foreign exchange rate increases supply also increase Supply sources of foreign exchange ● Foreign direct investment (FDI) ● Exports of the countries to the rest of the world
