Thank you for this video. I can only imagine how unnerving it was to be questionned by those three men like that, and to listen to the protests just outside the building where you are staying! I, too, am glad you are traveling with an Indonesian passport, as it seems there is great contempt for the United States in Tehran. I know you have been warmly welcomed by the local people in your previous videos, but the climate feels much less hospitable in the city of Tehran in light of the political protests for freedom and respect for women there. You are wise, I think, to consider your own safety in avoiding filming of the protests or anything else that might be misconstrued as anything other than tourism. Please get home safely! Much love to you this Christmas Day from Newfoundland and Labrador. 🎄🇨🇦🙂

Thanks to post this information! actually, i'll travel Iran, and that's my maiden trip around the world. So, if you ok please answer below question! 1. is it safe to stay in local guest house in tehran? 2. is the rural town' like isfahan rather safe?? 3. do you recommend me not to tralel Iran? i'm 24 japanese, not so fluent english..
@theRTWguys Жыл бұрын
You're welcome! Traveling to Iran can be a wonderful experience, and I'm happy to help answer your questions: Staying in Local Guest Houses in Tehran: Generally, staying in local guesthouses in Tehran is safe. Many tourists choose to stay in guesthouses or hostels, especially those located in popular areas. It's a great opportunity to interact with locals and fellow travelers. Just make sure to read reviews and choose reputable options. Like traveling anywhere, exercise basic safety precautions and be cautious with your belongings. Safety in Rural Towns like Isfahan: Iran is known for its warm hospitality and safety. Rural towns like Isfahan are generally safe for travelers. Crime rates are low, and locals are often welcoming to visitors. However, it's always advisable to be respectful of local customs and cultural norms, dress modestly, and avoid engaging in any political discussions. Traveling to Iran: Traveling to Iran can be a unique and enriching experience. It offers a rich history, stunning architecture, and diverse landscapes. While English might not be widely spoken, many Iranians are friendly and helpful. Learning a few basic Persian phrases can go a long way in facilitating communication. Do some research on the customs and culture to make the most of your trip. Always follow travel advisories from your government and consider joining group tours for added safety and guidance. Overall, traveling to Iran can be a rewarding adventure, but like any destination, it's important to be well-prepared and informed before your trip.

Thanks for your question, Rob! Generally, the people of Iran are warm and welcoming to visitors from all over the world, including America. As an Iranian outside Iran, I am proud that they have high security and won't let Iran turn into Syria. Well done. Also, proud of Iranians standing up again for their rights. This is how societies proceed. It is always a struggle. Indonesia was and remains a brutal dictatorship. Hopefully, they learn to fight fir their rights too. I also commend the maker of this video to have shown this in the most fair manner possible. Good Job! Unfortunately, the author obviously knows nothing about Iran's history.

@pouyabahrami76692 жыл бұрын
@@theRTWguys read its history. What does that have to do with being Iranians? Learn about Indonesia. Even the author said "this hit close to my heart" why do you think that is? Indonesia has a huge bloody history. Yes, you can visit and do business. Go try to oppose its government. A true test of democracy is not whether you can get drunk, it's when you oppose the State. Next, you are going to tell me Saudi Arabia is a free country because it's quiet. That's your judgment? In Iran, people are opposing traditional values and the government's enforcement of those laws which reflect those traditional values. This will affect core views of the society. Just because other Muslim countries are quiet doesn't mean they are more liberal. The same rules and worse are enforced at the very family levels without a challenge. Iran is the only Muslim nation that is challenging it at the family level, not just against the State. As those values have already faded in large segment of the society, the government has to change the laws. And as all civil liberties, it's a fight. This hasn't even happened at Indonesia's Muslim community. Don't get upset, read about Indonesia.
@pouyabahrami76692 жыл бұрын
@@theRTWguys and contrary on how all this is being purposefully reflected, Iran is not backward, it is actually ahead. First, foreign influence was kicked out 43 years ago. Then, 40 years of massive educational expansion in both men and women. By UN's human development index, Iran is only second in its RATE of expansion to S. Korea in the past 40 years. It's developed an industrial base which the world are bearly discovering. Now, when taken as a whole one can understand this fight for civil liberties. No such process has occurred in other Muslim nations. One can have a negative/imposed view of Iran's events, or view it for what it is.

Best not to get caught in Iranian politics. I visit Iran a lot and I make it a point not to take sides. I know both sides very well and the discourse on both sides is dehumanizing, toxic, filled with resentment and revenge. So best not to take sides. I personally know guys who go to prostitutes, beat up their girlfriends, force them to have abortions who have joined the protests. So, I don't get fooled by the theatrics. These are not Tibetan Buddhists protesting who are non-violent and pray for their enemies...

@@theRTWguys there are no good guys on either sides. Trust me. Female university professors have been threatened with rape by "protesters". The violence is on both sides. As for women in Iran: they are 60 to 70% of university students, they can legally ask for any amount as a dowry most Iranian families are actually controlled by the mother. Iranian men are notoriously dominated by their women. The hijab rule was actually introduced by Islamic leftist in the 80s and has no legal basis in Shi'i law. Thing is the authorities are very hypocritical: they ask women to wear hijab but all the men in Iran wear Western clothing. What hypocrisy LOL. As if theu're ashamed of being Iranian...

The majority still do support the Iranian govt. No amount of lying can deny that. Yes reforms, as in all countries, are needed but Western support and opinion is not. Iranians can handle their own future without intervention from the holy west, which dubs whomever it has a beef with as evil or in need of removing and exaggerates/distorts reality for its, the Wests, own ruthless gain. Do foreigners even know the history of the country they choose to speak about? The level of ignorance and audacity displayed by someone who is purporting to be a guest reveals he is probably a paid agent.

Iranians are more than capable of pursuing their own future. Those who think Iran is a backward and uneducated country are victim to extreme propaganda. It is unfortunate that a tourist can comment and cry about what he does not know and play into the hands of misinformation and exaggeration instead of understanding events in context of time and place. There are grand ayatollahs calling for more govt reforms. Iran is not the West and never will be. The issue is not about hijab or freedom or human rightsor Islam. It is about breaking down and controlling/looting/colonizing a country with the largest gas reserves, third to fourth largest oil reserves, vast minerals, cutting edge technology and scientific prowess and more all in the guise of human rights and pretending to support Iranians. Iranians should be vigilant about who wishes them well. The west that supplied and funded the gulf War against them with chemical warfare? The same West that fooled Iranians with the jcpoa and enacted a slow but potent genocide through extreme sanctions? Iran undoes the Wests colonialist plots in the region and doesn't let them run free with their plans to loot and utterly destroy nations. Stability is more important than democracy in the middle east, and esp the democracy exported by the west to the Middle East is no savior but in fact a way to keep the middle east a step behind. It is completely ignorant and evil for Americans and westerners to comment against other nations, esp using their crocodile tears and holding up fake concern for human rights. How shortsighted and short memory these individuals have on how many millions of people Western countries have directly and indirectly displaced and frankly killed. How many nations have been oppressed and strangled by Western sanctions. Westerners should stop acting stupid to the plots of their own nations. Concerning Iran and Iranians, there will never be any true goodwill from Western nations. The audacity shown here is mind-boggling.
