@@SaintsCheat I agree, the two main things holding LOVEBITES back for me are that their fun moments are too few and far between and that there's a certain "been there, done that" quality to most of their music since I've listened to so much power and thrash metal over the years.

Cool reaction, insights from the foreigner guitarist. What a great time to be alive! Empty Daydream would have been more his style, for sure. It would be quite something if Lovebites made a Music video for a slow rock ballad, you never know how good it would do. Lovebites least talked about song is probably "Puppet on strings" but it's so good, and less heavy metal than most songs.

LOVEBITES - Holy War lyrics & credits: Look at those black clouds, it’s going to rain blood People live in fear, covered in mud Singing oh Gloria to change the prophecy We are the metal warriors Fighting the darkness for sisters There is a thousand, a thousand of evils Hush, do not wake up Satan’s devils Singing Hallelujah to save our majesty We are the metal warriors Fighting the darkness for brothers Shining blade and burning heart Into the Gates of Hell we march Immortal soul, let there be light Into the Eye of Heaven Eagles at a holy war Fly higher than the sun We are one for all and all for one forevermore SOLO: midori Kingdom of Heaven, never shall we fall Reincarnation, wait for your call Singing oh, Gloria to change the prophecy We are the metal warriors Fighting the darkness for sisters Morning star and dying moon Into the Gates of Hell we march Mighty soul, let there be hope Into the Eye of Heaven Eagles at a holy war Fly higher than the sun Stand up in the name of the God of heavy metal What do we live for?What do we fight for, tonight? But the world is beautiful, worth fighting for Only have one thing on our mind Facing the fate, holy war SOLO: miyako / midori / both Singing Hallelujah to save our majesty We are the metal warriors Fighting the darkness for brothers Shining blade and burning heart Into the Gates of Hell we march Immortal soul, let there be light Into the Eye of Heaven Eagles at a holy war Fly higher than the sun We are one for all and all for one forevermore What do we live for?What do we fight for, tonight? Since Bruce plays with Foreigner, I presume he's more into rock than metal ? If so, then a LIVE performance of either "A Frozen Serenade", "Edge of the World" or even "Liar" would probably be a lot more up his alley. Having said that, I'm glad he still enjoyed "Holy War".

Yeah, but he clearly understood the level of M&M. And that that he was not on that level. Now, regarding level. There are different kind of skills. M&M have shown that they not only are fast and precise. On fast an precise they might have no peers. It might actually be so. But, if we take it down a notch and instead talk about musicality and in the pocket and dynamics and jazzy or other kind of feelings. Then there are competition. Loads of it.
@RichZee7776 күн бұрын
@@rolandkarlsson7072 Well, Thank god for our right to all have our subjective opinions and personal preferences, I am also very thankful that I can have my cake and eat it too, I can enjoy the simple life while also craving the chaotic and creative styles of many different bands even ones considered to be wide in variety or a very narrow simplified niche type of music. In all things on this earth, we can find differences with our own thoughts, with no defined limit of the most complex patterns and styles. The best of both, I mean, the best of many worlds, is where I check the boxes of what I get out of Lovebites music, regardless of the tempo, mood, or skill level. If I said, "there is no competition", then that should clearly be taken and accepted as my own subjective opinion, regardless of whether it is true. Most of all that is true, I can enjoy the incredible "Real" notes from the vocals of Asami. If someone told me that the Band "123xyz" is the most talented best band in the world, then I would simply step away and let them enjoy their moment, regardless of my opinions. I can enjoy every aspect of their music while those who do not get it, will often project their jealousy in the funniest ways, I have seen plenty of it, while it has been very clever and crafty, it is still there. It is my reason, while it is not your reason simultaneously, Competition is thrown out over hundreds of reasons since subjectivity will rule most of our decisions. The KorniCopia is abundant for all to enjoy. In a world of many doubters, we will always be considered wrong until we are proven correct. Here are some valuable words from the great John Lennon - Let it be, Let it be

Nothing against Holy War, it's a great song (and the song that introduced me to them), but a lot of time has gone by since it came out, and since Fami joined, there are so many songs that better showcase the two-guitar prowess of M&M. Show people the more recent stuff, like Judgement Day, or Stand & Deliver (Shoot 'em Down), or Soldier Stands Solitarily.
@hiawatha.g6 күн бұрын
I get your point, but on the other hand, Holy War captures the basic Lovebites concept. Some of those other songs are so overwhelming people might not really process what they are seeing the first time.

I think Holy War is an excellent choice for a LOVEBITES virgin's first listen. Of course, some other songs could also be just as good, but I'm perfectly fine with Joel using this song.

I prefer Holy War over the newer stuff myself, but each to their own I guess.
@SomethingToDo3606 күн бұрын
I agree. Although Holy War doesn’t have anything bad about it, it is overall average compared to some other songs. If people want reactors to have the best first impression, people need to break old habits of recommending the same song 1 billion times over. To the people who defend it by saying it gets a big reaction, that happens just by seeing Lovebites for the first time.
@rolandkarlsson70726 күн бұрын
Seems like people have different opinions here. I would say that Zepp Divercity Holy War is a safe choice. No one can be faulted to choose that video for a reaction or even a first reaction. "Soldier stand solitarily" is fantastic, but it might be over the top. There is no path up from there. "Break the wall" is fantastic, but it is very thrashy and some might not like that, Holy War is more diverse. "The Hammer of Wrath" is a solid choice. Its also fun because it is Fami's first concert appearance. Its a reasonable choice.

For the Japanese rock band Lovebites, the most commonly accepted way to write their name in Japanese is "ラヴバイツ" (Ravubaitsu) using katakana characters. The pronunciation would be "Ra-vu-ba-itsu." Someone may step in an correct me if i have misunderstood.
