Not all heroes wear capes...
Over the years, I have learned that in Croatia, there is good bureaucracy and there is bad bureaucracy, and that while there are many in comfortable jobs who see customers as an irritation to their paid daily chill, there are others who go beyond the call of duty. Legends like Nenad from Raiffeisen Bank in Varazdin.
Bureaucracy in the public sector is one thing, bureaucracy in the private sector quite another. A tale of two banks, one which required a 200 km round trip and 3-week waiting list to open a simple bank account, the other which could perform the task with a smile and a joke in just 46 minutes. Let's hear it for Nenad. Read the original article here www.total-croatia-news.com/li...

haha, when you find yourself in a country where it is quicker to get a name changed in the cadastre then sending some lemons from Hvar to Zagreb, you know that this is a country where literally anything is possible - www.total-croatia-news.com/made-in-croatia/66441-hrvatska-posta-delivers

ahahaha. As an American that moved here 7 years ago, built a house here and owns a business I can tell you that Croatia is wonderful most of the time, but when it's challenging, it's over the TOP challenging.

@AngryOldBastard
@AngryOldBastard Жыл бұрын
@@mirocabraja5128 out company manufacturers paintball masks etc, but that's all done outside of Croatia and literally everything I sell in Europe is outside of Croatia. Regarding construction the challenge for you is going to be finding workers. If you go to Zagreb you'll find tons of foreigners from like Nepal working here. And no offense to the people of Nepal but their average IQ is like 75 borderline mental retardation so you have to imagine how bad it is to find labor at the moment. The upside is that 2023 will be the lost year with economic depression hitting globally so hopefully many of the people that went to go work outside of Croatia will return due to layoffs etc Only time will tell

Ha ha ha... I live in Canada but planning to return to Croatia soon. Last year we spent few months in Zagreb, Opatija and Stari Grad and at one point I needed to open a bank account while still having only Canadian residence. I had a Croatian passport, but only Canadian residence.... no bank would allow me to open an account, except of course Raiffeisen. Easy peasy :) Why, I don't know.

My experience with Zagrebacka banka, in Porec, left me with a sour taste. I just wanted to exchange currency and I ended up closing my account. They were bureaucratic, and unprofessional, the anthesis of business.

Thing is that many young people migrate to Western Europe, however once they collect enough capital they usually see investing in properties in Croatia as good, they start businesses and plan to return there once they're old, they plan to retire there and create new businesses In short Investments rise and the country develops, good luck on your work in Croatia! (You can also get a decent house in Lika/Slavonija for

Yes there are a lot of houses being sold very cheaply in places like Lika. The pandemic created a special market for this, with lots of people from Zagreb buying.

Feed the paper monster we do not why, that's just the way it is. Many places have this problem. Trust , organization and reasonable check and balances is all that's needed. People that work In certain organizations are afraid to question ?? Also perhaps People don't care enough? Not only in Croatia but maybe more so in Croatia? Positive and constructive change needed everywhere, we should not be stuck in the past. Whatever doesn't serve the people get rid of it...don't serve the paper monster serve the people, that is why institutions exist!

AFAIK, only Hrvatska poštanska banka is actually still a Croatian bank. All the others are owned by foreign (mostly western) banking conglomerates. So, was it a problem with Croatia, or with bank bureaucrats in general? 🤔

There is s lot of socialist legacy in some of those institutions. Rules because of sake of rules. And to employ as many people as posible to keep the social peace.
