glory of bollywood is still not back, still hindi market is not back fully. South industry is major now, so but its indian industry eventually but bollywood prime movies when great movies come in line up is over, means now Prabhas is biggest star which srk is currently biggest but upcoming prabhas stock up. And boycott was correct to correct. Bollywood this year gave Kill movie which was great movie but not got attention as new star cast introduce and they are not nepo kids. But kill was good and need more films and risk like that to reach what other indian industry doing and going international and making 200 million dollar films now and bollywood still struggling hoping they make good film and brahmastra and yrf spy universe and shakimaan sony production are only can really revamp thinking of bollywood as acche din well many more film can do which are good movie and tick mark in every situation

Bollywood had 3 terrible years from 2020 to 2022 at the box office, with lots of flops and underperformers. Then Pathaan came out in Jan 2023 and was a humongous hit and revived lots of theatres that had shut down. That's the revival mentioned in the video.

It changes there perspectives and also now many projects are coming which are nice and can be celebrated on weekends to go and enjoy. well bollywood is still not back, indian cinema earn 5 billion dollar in 2024 and major was south industry with 43% and bollywood 40%+ which is good but one south film movie like kalki vision and future look is not we see in film like ANIMAL. today india have kalki cinematic universe, loki cinematic universe, prasanth verma cinematic universe , maddock supernatural universe , yrf spy universe , brahmastra astraverse so here you see 3 south and 3 bollywood cinematic universe and i am more excited about KCU, PVCU, LCU than spy universe or supernatural universe. They were trying to boycott the movie because in one of the songs in the movie, the lead actress Deepika wore orange coloured bikini. In Hindu religion there is significance of orange colour that's why some groups who only want riots did this. But people had no problem with it( Including Hindus). It's just normal. People realised that this is the stupid reason to boycott the movie. So they watched the movie, it was good, and it became the Highest grossing Bollywood movie without a china release and broke all the box office records of any Bollywood movie.

16:50 nope, what happened actually is that srk took a 4 year break because his films were not working. And post COVID many films that relesed in bollywood bombed even the films of A listed bollywood starts so nothing was working because people had diverted to OTT and nothing seemed to drive them back to theatres lilke the pre corona period and thats when srk made a comeback and restored the balance to the universe. Pathan was a massive blockbuster. This drove the audience back to theaters and post this many films started to perform. SRK also restored his former glory with three successful films in a row in a single year. SRK was always called the King of Bollywood but his position became questionable post 2014 when some of his films underperformed whereas other stars of his level were delivering hits. Apart from this, SRK also went through some problems in his personal life like his patriotism being questioned and the arrest of his son. Media did not spare him either. He was declared as a star who is past his prime. Many critics wrote that his career is over. Now Post corona even other big stars failed to bring the audience back to theatres and that is why SRK bringing the audience back to theaters despite a lot forces working against him and wanting the film to fail felt so cinematic as people were so emotionally connected to his story of his terrible downfall and the magnificient comeback.

16:40 Yes, pretty much. The tsunami of Southern Indian movies you see now was not a thing a decade ago. I mean they were restricted to their states/regions, did not work on all Indian level, let alone global level. Hindi Language cinema(Bollywood) was always the biggest and it had started to lose that hegemony in the last decade. It all started with Baahubali (2015) and Southern industries like Telugu language cinema, Tamil language movies, Malayalam movies, etc started to take over more and more. When covid happened, it all went crazy. All languages cinemas in India have a lot of nepotism where outsiders/commoners are not allowed, but Bollywood gets targeted the most for that for obvious reasons. A young & extremely talented "outsider" actor was Sushant Singh Rajput, who unalived himself in the summer of 2020. That was the turning point of all hell breaking lose. All the religious, political, and meida houses with vested interests used his death as an opportunity to destroy Hindi cinema and it worked wonderfully. *An important thing you must know is that there has been no impressive talent after the generation consisting of SRK, Aamir Khan, or Hrithik Roshan, etc. Most of the so called young stars are spoilt rich brats coming form movie families. They're not talented, are extremely unaware of the reality outside of their privileged bubbles, yet they keep getting movie offers due to their connections.* So this sentiment was already there in the public psyche, but it became too passionate with the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, an actually talented youngster who did not come from rich film family background. He was also a huge SRK fan btw. Rest is history. People stuck in their homes due to covid lockdowns having nothing better to do, and also struggling with excessive negativity became the perfect environment for annihilation of Hindi cinema, for both right & wrong reasons. At the same time, southern Indian movies like RRR not only took over ENTIRE INDIA, but also made a global mark. Literally no Bollywood film was working until SRK's Pathaan came. That stopped the boycott Bollywood trend, though it doesn't mean that bollywood is fully back in business, but it definitely came back to life again. Solely because of SRK. One of the main reasons why SRK is loved so much is because he too was a commoner who entered Bollywood like thunder and took over it by storm. An industry plagued with nepotism is ruled by a guy who was a lower middle class common Northerner.

15:20 that's such a great question! Bollywood had a few bad years under its belt, box-office vise, 5 to be exact. A hate train if you will. But with pathaan and SRK's return to the big screen all the boycott stuff was shut down because it is one of the biggest films on the box-office. He did two (pathaan & jawan) back to back 1000cr+ films(10 billion). So yes all the "he saved bollywood" makes sense because after pathaan a lot of other films also did well at the box-office. Having said that bollywood was still making some real good films during the "bad phase". It's just how public has started to quantify cinema in monetary terms.

15:20 ​ India has a lot of religious tensions. SRK is a symbol of unity & secularism because he's not an orthodox muslim and celebrates all religions. This annoys those vested interest people who like to create communal tensions, so SRK gets targeted by both Hindu nationalists (for being a Muslim) as well as Islam hardcore types (for celebrating Hinduism). In the video it was mostly the Hindu nationalists. When SRK was off-screen for 4yrs, these hardcore right wingers created a LOT Of toxicity regarding SRK, even his son was targeted in a fake drugs case. Some (NOT ALL) of the ruling party's BJP ministers hate SRK passionately. When a famous veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar died & SRK made an appearance to pay his respects to her (by bowing down), these toxic people spread the misinformation that SRK was spitting on her body. All the major people in Bollywood are mostly from Northern/Western India. While the right wing Hindutva movement is heavily Middle India Ganga belt centric, so they really dislike Bollywood, it's sort of a regional issue as well. When COVID happened, it became a trend to insult Bollywood, combined with awesome performance by various Southern Indian movie industries. Bollywood was basically being called a dead industry, until SRK came back in 2023 & put Bollywood BACK on the TOP. Those toxic people feared that would happen, so they did everything in their power to spread negativity before Pathaan released. An orange coloured dress Deepika wore in Besharam Rang song of Pathaan was used as their accusation to call SRK anti-national. They have been doing this for the last 20yrs. And it became really high during SRK's 4yr break. Because of all this, SRK also decided to not make many media appearances or give his witty hilarious interviews which he's known for.

He was the first actor who opened a Vfx company in India which is now the biggest vfx company in India (RedChillies). He did comic roles, romantic roles and also a role of a dwarf. BEING A GLOBAL STAR AUDIENCE WANTED HIM TO DO MASSY MOVIES, WHEREAS HE WANTED TO DO DIFFERENT ACTING ROLES. SO ONE OF HIS MOVIE "Zero" which was about a dwarf WENT AVERAGE AND HE TOOK A BREAK. OTHER ACTORS IN INDIA WERE DOING THEIR BEST BUT THE STORIES THEY BROUGHT ON SCREEN EITHER HAD FLAWED SCRIPTS OR WERE REMAKES OF SOUTH WHEREAS SRK NEVER DID REMAKES SO THOSE OTHER ACTORS WERE NOT LIKED BY AUDIENCE. AND THE STANDARD OF BOLLYWOOD WAS DECREASING WHILE HE WAS ON A BREAK. THATS WHEN HE CAME BACK AND REVIVED BOLLYWOOD WITH PATHAAN , JAWAN. WHEN PATHAAN WAS ANNOUNCED , SOME HATEMONGERS WHO WERE JEALOUS OF HIS SUCCESS AND ALSO HATED HIM BASED ON A RELIGIOUS PREJUDICE, WERE TRYING TO BOYCOTT HIS MOVIE PATHAAN, BUT PATHAAN JAWAN EARNED 1050 CRORES AND 1200 CRORES IN A SINGLE YEAR WITHIN A GAP OF 4 MONTHS. He has been very vocal about global scenarios and so he attracted a lot of hate based on religious prejudice for being vocal and supporting the right.
