You would hardly hear a young person calling and older person by their name out of respect, even if they did, they always add uncle or aunt with the name, i.e. Brook uncle. Its similar in India and Pakistan.

@@Edgesofearth Most BD expats are from Sylhet. Around 85% of Brit Bengalis have their roots in Sylhet. The percentage in the US and Canada may not be as high as the UK but certainly, it would be north of 50%, I would imagine.
