Sri Lanka is the only country in the world that 4 major religious sacred places ( BuddhistTemple, Hindu Kovil, Christian or Catholics Church and Muslims Mosque or masjid stand within one kilometer radius in every major cities and town as well as in the 15 zounes in Colombo and its suburbs Sri Lanka can show the world or teach the world how to live in harmony with various faiths BUT unfortunately the racists corrupted murderous criminals politicians ruined the beautiful island known as Paradise on earth!!! First of all thank you so much for taking a brave step and visiting our peaceful protest ...💓 you just visited the "gotagogama" which means gota go village in galle face..the protesters created whole new village with hospital , a shop(totally free) , lawyer squad , ayurvedic hospital and a library there...if you could wait till evening people singing songs about our country from early 80' 90' ... its truly heaven when people united ...we just want to protect our beautiful country ...💓thank you once again !

I visited Sri Lanka in 2018 and loved its people and landscape. I went there last month again to make travel documentaries about its dense ancient sites. I had so many wonderful friends there and i hope everything will be fine for them. Bali, Thailand is beautiful yes! But Sri Lanka not being far behind. I’m really sorry to hear that you had to go through some difficulties in Sri Lanka during your vacation. Please keep in mind that Sri Lanka is still a developing country and recovering from Covid losses. On top of that, Sri Lankan people had to go through an economic crisis which is very bad for everyone. The tourism industry was hit the hardest. There are many low-income families that survive from tourism such as street vendors, chefs, and many more. Safety is secondary but Srilanka has no electricity ,no fuel, most of the restaurants are closed because of cooking Gas shortages. No diesel to run power generators .It's not the right time to travel Srilanka.

(Part 1/3) There are two types of expenditure in Sri Lanka or any country. They are recurrent expenditure and capital expenditure. Recurrent expenditure means salaries and pension payments. No one can steal money from the recurrent expenditure. If one wants to steal money, that should be involved with the capital expenditure means the money used for development. The total debt that we burrowed for development and payment of the trade deficit was 56 billion US$ by the end of 2019. Out of this total debt, 37% is sovereign bonds. MAHINDA Rajapaksha borrowed 5 billion US$ and RANIL-MAITHREEPALA government took 12.5 billion US$ of sovereign bonds. Much of the sovereign bonds borrowed by MAHINDA RAJAPAKSHA had been already paid. Now what we have to pay is the sovereign bonds taken by the government of Ranil and Maithreepala. This year Sri Lanka has to pay 6 billion US$ and next year also we have to pay a similar amount of money for sovereign bonds that are maturing. On top of that, we have a 10 billion US$ trade gap (the difference between the export and imports). That is the scale of the financial issue. The issue is aggravated due to the collapse of the tourism industry and due to the reduction of foreign remittances. The government try to solve the increasing cost of living by fixing the EXCHANGE RATE of US$. That was badly affected the foreign remittances. The foreign remittances did not come from the official channels such as the banking system but it was diverted through unauthorized systems. One issue that we have to accept is that BASIL Raapaksha and the Central Bank had not managed the trade gap issue and foreign debt issue well. If BASIL Raapaksha as the Finance Minister and the Central Bank had done so we may be able to smooth the foreign debt issue and the shortage of essential items such as gas, fuel, electricity, medicine and building materials. However, we have to understand that the scale of the financial crisis cannot be compared with the corruption of someone or a group of people including some Rajapakshas who may have stolen our money. The financial crisis is due to the corruption of Rajapakshas or any other person or group is far from the truth. That we can understand if we analyze the issue. That is mainly a political slogan. Such slogans will not help to solve this issue. People who have come to the streets do not understand the truth, are ignorant of it or are politically motivated. Here, I am not saying that some Rajapakshas are not thieves or corrupted to the bottom. Some say that Basil Rajapaksha took 10% from development and investments.
