So for context on the pig show you all watched . As part of the school system their is a program called FFA (Future Farmers of American). Kids have the ability to care for and raise different animals and sell them at the various rodeos across the state, primarily to fund their college education.

@@scotttretten8020 All these kids are part of FFA. My best friend is an Ag teacher and we don’t see her at all during stock show season because she’s too busy driving her FFA students and their animals all over Texas from our own local stock show to San Antonio, Austin, and Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo. The only time I really ever see our kids wear their FFA “uniforms”/jackets is if they’re doing presentations or going to competitions, usually not in the ring directly working with their animals. Normally they’re in jeans and button-downs for that - at least that’s how it is here in South Texas.

I agree. All seems so normal to me. I took an ex from California to the San Antonio rodeo and she lost her mind. First she ate before because she didn’t know there would be food . Then she thought the mutton riding was the cutest thing in the world. But bull riding was inhumane and then was shocked she enjoyed the country music.

The American Rodeo! Scottish, Irish, German immigrants along with long-time Anglo-ethic Americans moved out into the central plains of North America. There they met Spanish-Mexican vaqueros. Mix in the inspiration from some of the world’s best horse people -the Kiowa and Comanche - mix it all up and you get … the American rodeo! Proud to be an American!

Sort of like schools have teams.. and they move up and up and up.. till your at the best.. same with rodeo.. its a lifetime goal. Them kids you saw riding the "muttons" are future Cowboys and Cowgirls. What a Burger is a must try.. Texas Roadhouse.. Magnolia Cafe for breakfast anytime.. Saltlick BBQ or a trip out to the Three Kings of BBQ.. and Monument (Georgetown) and Bluebonnet (Marble Falls) Cafe's.. And in Ausin you have the ability to make an hour drive to San Antonio to eat at the Market.. and between the two you can get Authentic Mexican food as well as TexMex.. Welcome To Texas.. and once you have gome back home.. you will be able to tell them "What's so Special about Texas!" God Bless Y'all

training for rodeo starts as a kid,,raised on a ranch,,,,handling animals,,,feeding, medicating, hauling, raising, selling, and petting. Small kids at 4yr old start riding sheep then ponies and calves,,,trained or not. When they want, 4yr old if they want, to start the rodeo. Ropers and bull or bronc riders in their late teens. Some wind up career cowboys working ranches, some go on the road permanently with campers and trucks to do rodeos in many states. Final rodeo of the year is in calgary canada. Prior to that is a national rodeo in america,,,i forget where, but as crops mature and that cycle of nature moves from south to north in the year, so do the rodeos,,,ending in canada thanks for your fun video

I have met rednecks that a enjoy tigres del norte, Mexican as Mexican can get, and have met Mexicans that enjoy Charlie Daniels band.
