Now you guys have more appreciation to how much labor not to mention, love is invested by these farmers in planting these palays. Like what our grandma always tells us....every single grain has its story, that it went through a lot before it reaches ones plate & to give honor to that grain & the farmers that planted them....make sure that no single grain of rice is left behind on your plate, take only as much as you can finish. Whatever it is that made you decide to immerse yourselves in learning more about your culture, even if it represents only half of your heritage...one thing is for sure, I can say that hard as it is the living among the lives of ordinary or even poor Filipinos you'll sure are able to find fulfillment in this journey....one that no classroom can ever teach you, appreciation & gratitude. Kudos to all of you.

Thanks guys! My parents used to take us kids & help them out planting rice after school. It brought to tears it brought the memory of my late Tatay who worked hard planting rice & sent me across the Pacific. Our rice fields is now empty without my father. Mabuhay to you all.

I knew that we should not waste the food we eat esp the rice but I really appreciated that attitude when I myself once tried to help during the harvest season. The hard work that all farmers exert from planting to harvesting made me value more the food I eat. It was no joke to bend for several hours and be burned under the sun then feel that itch on your feet at the end of the day. Whew. But it was a worthwhile experience for me. :-)

Thanks for giving rice planting exposure. Its a hard job but its taken for granted because our rice planters dont have good PR people who promotes appreciation for the craft. Love the episode, your doing more good for our country than some of our "Pogi", "Sexy" and "Matanda" politicians. You should try climbing a coconut or pine tree. In the highland( cordillera ), we are climbing the pine tree to cut the branches but it's really hard because you need an endurance and you should not be afraid
