These are we we tend to call public service announcements rather than adverts

Hi from the West of Scotland, UK. Thankyou for reacting to these PSA’s. One thing about us brits is that we don’t sugar coat things that are important and occasionally very dark. These would be shown after the 9pm watershed when the kids are in bed to give the adults something to think about and talk about even though the subjects are difficult. PSA just means Public Service Announcements. Take care 😘🏴

The ones you seemed confused about were to get people to learn First Aid Skills. St. Johns Ambulance runs training courses. Nice reaction. The British used to do a lot like these but seem to have stopped. Others not shown here included a list of injuries every few milliseconds during a fatal impact, realistically portrayed, a child being electrocuted on a pylon, and comparisions of children being hit at 30 and 40 miles per hour.

The point is to learn first aid so you know what to do

4:29 the point is to *join* St Johns Ambulance, it's a group of volunteers who can learn how to perform first aid so if anything happens you know what do to. The father didn't know what to do, the advert is pointing out a member of st johns ambulance can't be there all the time so it's down you YOU to also learn what to do in situations like that. So text or call the number to get advice on how to sign up and learn. 3:41 tells you who she is and what St Johns Ambulance is. 3:54 Explains she can't be there all the time. 4:12 Text show me for advice on how to join what was described to you at 3:41

Also it gave a free first aid guide you could print out. They did a whole series of those PSAs. St John's also teach people basic first aid for free so everyone can be prepared to help in an emergency. They also want all schools to teach first aid
