It's always heartwarming to see a mature couple enjoy life the way it should be done. Just like my wife and I used to do before she unfortunately passed on. Have a great time out there. Blessings to you both.

ubod is bamboo shoots. Bibingka is the Tagalog word while in the Visayas, it is called Bingka. That's why most people in that geographic division called it as Bingka, because that's the Visayan word for it. It goes well with a hot beverage cuz of its dry texture.

Bamboo shoots we called it Labong and the Ubod is from the heart of palm
@lionhearted196911 ай бұрын
Not quite true. In Visayas, especially in Cebu, it is still called bibingka but most of us simply shorten it to bingka.

@@tuting1965 now that you said, it just occurred to me that we called bamboo shoots as tambo.

The special bibingka should have buko meat inside, salted egg on top and shredded coconut for topping. It’s better to buy Bibingka along the street that inside the mall (foodcourt).
@lionhearted196911 ай бұрын
Cebu and other provinces make their own version. There's no 'wrong' or 'right' way to do bibingka as long as the primary ingredients (rice flour or refined ground rice, baking soda/baking powder, coconut milk, salt and sugar) are all there and the manner it is cooked which is baking. Just like how we do other dishes such as lechon, sausage, pancit, etc. where each province has its own version.
