Man! Watching that made me emotional. So much care and detail. That is a real tribute. This music means so much to many of us. Three guitars killing every note and to think Tom originally did this pretty much by himself and with Delp's vocals. The vocals are spot on, and the female voices may actually improve on the original. And that guy is an absolute beast on the B-3, I play the keys a bit, but this one is hard as h*ll! The fact that Tom Scholz is not in the Rock Hall of Fame invalidates the entire meaning of that museum.

Boston had such a unique and immediately recognizable sound-they along with Journey, and 38 Special were my favorite bands from my youth. I only wish Boston had done more albums in their prime. Cannot forget driving home from medical school classes one afternoon and turning my radio on and hearing song Amanda-instantly recognized it as a new song by Boston-before the DJ came on at end of song and confirmed what I heard with my ears. This is the most amazing reproduction of that unique Boston sound-well done-you have come as close to perfection in a tribute/cover song as is humanly possible!!!!

@Gregory Hall, the reason that Boston did not make more albums was because one of its members is an OCD perfectionist and he liked to get things just so, namely to the point that it kind of made members of Boston mad at him, most notably, Brad Delp himself, as well as the executives at the record company that they worked for at the time.

I too heard Amanda on the radio with no pre-introduction. I too instantly knew that it was finally a new song from Boston. However, I don't know if what I heard was a special DJ Promo or maybe a DJ edit or what? But that first listen of Amanda ended & instantly went into My Destination. Basically being a Reprise of Amanda. Both together sounded Amazing! I never heard it on the radio like that again. But as soon as I bought the LP, I made a mix tape with them together. Along with the other Boston, Barry Goudreau & Orion The Hunter LP's I had.

A friend just turned me on to you guys yesterday. LOVING what you've done. This song gave me goosebumps. As a musician, this would be the funnest type of project to do. Thanks for all your hard work!

This is so true2 the original, it's ridiculous! When the 'late' Boston recreates these classics, the stage acoustics are bad. The sound isn't clean & syncopated. It also seems Tom is trying too hard too show off his special effects. The end result is they're killing it, NOT in the good way.

Best band, best song, this is what made me want to play guitar. You guys are unbelievably great as always

what a great post...that opening solo just got us didn't it and all the rest as well. I'm glad you decided to play guitar and i have a feeling you've never regretted it - maybe one day we'll play em together. Your friend, dale.
@jonahguitarguy8 жыл бұрын
Yes the opening solo and you nailed it. Playing together would be great and you're tight I've never regretted it. Others have but not I. Two other great instrumentals to great guitar riff songs come to mind, Funeral for a friend/Love lies bleeding, by Elton, and the bit before Tuesday Afternoon by Moody Blues. I have to look that up I'm not sure Tuesday is the correct song. I'm mistaken the song I was thinking of was the Story in your eyes. On the album there's some preamble before the guitar lick.

I think I broke my face from smiling non stop for 8 straight minutes! I saw Boston live on their Don't Look Back tour and had some pretty decent seats. This bring back memories of that tour...It's impossible for anyone playing/singing this song to not smile throughout the entire thing and you guys put the definition in "tribute" by the way you played this. Amazing.

The ladies get the job done in a tasteful professional way. Beautiful and sophisticated. Great harmonies. I stopped watching HSCC band when they made it all about the writhing in our faces female vocalists. Good music needs no distracting eye candy. Keep up the awesome work with your successful sophisticated formula.

@@tonedr I keep watching and listening to this, great musicianship, the mixdown is so good, the drums, bass and vocals, are not muddled, the guitarist swapping out the leads are mixed so good, could I ask , did not y'all do this live in one take?...I really am a big fan of your work and band. Do y'all ever come out west?, I know this virus has killed every body's tours, but I one day you could come out to southern California, and Arizona. Thank you so much for your time😎

I got to meet Austin Sunday night at the concert and tell him personally how much I enjoyed his keyboard work. I played a B-3 with a Beach Music band in NC as a teenager and never imagined being able to play like he does. He is a few years older but a really nice and talented young man to speak to. Well done Vandee and all the group and a special to God bless to Austin. Keep on using those talents the Lord gave you my young friend.
