@khuenguyen7921 That's what I meant, he needs more distance on his drives. Having a wedge or short iron in your hands everytime instead of a long iron or hybrid makes the game easier. It honestly won't take much for him to break 90, but any less than that is gonna take a lot of practice and technique change.

I think Frankie might be THE worst guy to get Trent around in under 90 shots. Positivity is awesome, but there’s gotta be some understanding of goals and objectives. Like at Trent’s putting ability, you’re not trying to make 12-20 footers. Forget about the hole, help get him dialed on speed. A lot of things like that.

They're basically exact opposites. Riggs loses all his shots off the tee and with long clubs. Trent loses all his shots from 150 in. If Trent would take a month and do nothing but short game work he'd break 90 first game out.

I always turn these videos off after the first hole, once I realize Trent has made no changes to his swing or approach, and isnt at all working towards his goal. I’m not going to waste an hour wondering if it’ll be Trent’s lucky day or not. If he were actually serious about improving, I’d be invested and root for him. But at this point, it’s literally like watching a guy buy scratch off tickets and hope one of them is a jackpot. Put in some work and earn the score, or just do away with this series. Why would anyone want to watch someone try to lower their score, without putting in any work to become better. It’s golf. You don’t get better just by playing more. You just further solidify your current position the more you play. He’s just hoping that he’s going to magically become better from gaining more experience, but that’s not how golf works.

For those of you wondering how Trent ceases to improve, despite playing so frequently, it’s because he has very poor athleticism and natural ability, and he doesn’t make any changes to his swing. So breaking 90 will only happen with luck. He isn’t doing anything to better his game and drop his handicap. He’s just hoping that, strictly by luck, he’ll improve.

I don’t think he practices very much. His ball striking has improved, but with professional instruction it sped up that process. I don’t see him as a guy grinding on the range or short game area.

Trent - you’ll get there buddy. If you can dial in the putting you’ll be there sooner than you think. You’re pulling a lot of putts and the ones you don’t pull, you’re pushing to over-compensate. You may look at changing the grip on the putter to the Flat-Cat grip. It’s a rectangle and can really help you with target line. It helped my putting tremendously. Look forward to the next one!
