My dad died last year from Covid...in a hospital bed by himself in NY. He got sick this week a year ago and died two weeks later. I watched the video for the first time today. I can't stop watching it and listening and just crying, crying and crying. I haven't been able to grieve properly. He wasn't buried...He's in an urn and hopefully sometime this year, I plan to put his ashes in the ocean. You spoke to my heart. Thank you.

im so sorry for your loss. Reading your comment breaks my heart. I lost my father when I was 15...I'm in my 30's now and just cried like a baby through this whole song. I know how much pain you are in right now, how intense that pain is, and even though you are a stranger I wish I could take it from you because I remember. It's okay to not be okay right now, and I promise there is an 'other side' even though it's impossible to see right now. Again, I'm so sorry for your loss. Hang in there and hold on. ❤️

Typing through tears. My wife showed me this song. I'm a father to two girls--13 and 6. I was diagnosed 3 years ago at age 41 with stage IV cancer. This song wrecks me because it's pretty small odds I will see their weddings or meet the boys they marry. My 13 year old put together a play list I could listen to during chemo today. I made one and sent it back to her and included this song for her. Thank you. It's beautiful and it's how I feel about my little girls. My youngest daughter has jet black hair and blue eyes and marble skin and will probably look a lot like this bride in the video when she's grown.
@pamb51862 жыл бұрын
I'm so sorry about your diagnosis. A few years ago, I saw where a mom who had a terminal condition made videos giving her daughter advice she thought she might need as she grew up. I don't know if that is something that would work for you but just wanted to share it. You may have already thought of this, but you might make at least one video telling them how much you love them. Just me thinking out loud.
@Timbarooh2 жыл бұрын
@@pamb5186 Yes, thank you. I have made videos for my kids after the manner you describe. I have also written each of them their own letters. I have also created a private family Gmail account that I send regular emails to with advice as I think of it. I have little audio files that I've made for special occasions that I've pretimed to be sent via email. I believe it will be important to them some day to hear my voice say 'I love you' or 'Hapoy Birthday'

I'm trying for my gf of a year and a half. Her father isn't really a good person from within the household and the family circle but appears nice to outsiders or friends. She never got the affection or close love needed. Never had a man taking care of her. I'm really happy I can provide this for her. She loves all the little things so much like just being cuddled and held in my arms. Can't believe I've found such a perfect person. I just want to say love is out there for everyone just waiting. But you do need God's help to better yourself and be who you aspire to be. He will guide you. I'm just really grateful for everything I have.

My wife and I separated earlier this year and I heard this tonight for the first time.. this is exactly how I feel every single day, picturing what I could tell the man she ends up with if she ever ended up with another. We've known eachother for 11 years, pretty much grew up together, and know everything about eachother. She ended up not being happy and you can't force love. Never thought I'd be starting my life over again at 33, but this song gives me hope that if she ever remarried, she'd find a man who will love her even a fraction of the amount that I did.

lyrics: Take it If she gives you her heart, don't you break it Let your arms be a place she feels safe in She’s the best thing that you'll ever have [Verse 1] She always has trouble falling asleep And she likes to cuddle while under the sheets She loves pop songs And dancing, and bad trash TV There’s still a few other things She loves love notes and babies And likes giving gifts Has a hard time accepting a good compliment She loves hеr whole family And all of her friends So if you'rе the one she lets in [Chorus] Take it If she gives you her heart, don't you break it Let your arms be a place she feels safe in She’s the best thing that you'll ever have She’ll love you, if you love her On days when It feels like the whole world might cave in Stand side by side and you’ll make it She’s the best thing that you'll ever have She’ll love you, if you love her like that [Verse 2] Kiss her with passion as much as you can Run your hands through her hair whenever she’s sad And when she doesn’t notice how pretty she is Tell her over and over So she never forgets [Chorus] Take it If she gives you her heart, don't you break it Let your arms be a place she feels safe in She’s the best thing that you'll ever have She’ll love you, if you love her On days when It feels like the whole world might cave in Stand side by side and you’ll make it She’s the best thing that you'll ever have She’ll love you, if you love her like that [Bridge] She’ll love you If you love her like that She’ll love you If you love her [Outro] On days when It feels like the whole world might cave in Stand side by side and you’ll make it She’s the best thing that you'll ever have She’ll love you, if you love her like that

We had the greatest date ever, I brought her roses in her favorite color, we hit the mall, got food, went on a hike, went to sit in massage chairs and she’s the best kisser I’ve ever met. On the car ride back home, I opened the sun roof on my Ford Focus at night and I played her this song. I listened to this song beforehand and it made me think of her so I played it and we held hands to it, kissed each others dorsal (back of the hand) and even thumb wrestled for the heck of it. When we separated, we gave each other a nice big hug and a huge kiss (a decent amount of time) and she said “well save the rest for tomorrow”. Few days later, the worst news of my life :( she passed away unexpectedly. Every time I’ve listened to this song since, it brings me back to a moment of happiness but not without a few tears (or a lot). I hope she knew how much I cared about her. I miss her so much.

When you're young, life feels like everything will stay the same. But then you quickly grow up and realize nothing lasts forever. And just like that, the ones who raised you, held you and cared for you fade to dust. But the truth is they don't truly die; there's a part of them still alive. And it is YOU.

Take it When she gives you her heart, don't you break it Let your arms be a place she feels safe in She's the best thing that you'll ever have She always has trouble falling asleep And she likes to cuddle, all under the sheets She loves pop songs and dancing and bad trash TV There's still a few other things She loves love notes and babies and likes giving gifts Has a hard time accepting a good compliment And she loves her whole family and all of her friends So if you're the one she lets in Take it When she gives you her heart, don't you break it Let your arms be a place she feels safe in She's the best thing that you'll ever have She'll love you if you love her On days when It feels like the whole world might cave in Stand side by side and you'll make it She's the best thing that you'll ever have She'll love you if you love her like that Kiss her with passion as much as you can Run your hands through her hair, whenever she's sad And when she doesn't notice how pretty she is Tell her over and over, so she never forgets Take it When she gives you her heart, don't you break it Let your arms be a place she feels safe in She's the best thing that you'll ever have She'll love you if you love her On days when It feels like the whole world might cave in Stand side by side and you'll make it She's the best thing that you'll ever have She'll love you if you love her like that She'll love you if you love her like that She'll love you, she'll love you She'll love you if you love her like that Oh, oh, yeah Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah She'll love you, she'll love you, she'll love you She'll love you if you love her On days when It feels like the whole world might cave in Stand side by side and you'll make it She's the best thing that you'll ever have She'll love you if you love her like that

I grew up thinking my Dad would walk me down aisle. I always imagined we would dance to Butterfly Kisses at my wedding, the way did every we did at every father daughter dance from the time I was 7 til my senior year of high school. And he would make a corny joke, just to keep us both from crying. But Covid interfered with wedding planning, and Cancer took Daddy from me in October. I have been so so so devastated about it. This song makes me feel like that dance won't be completely gone. He may not be with me, but I know this is how he felt. Thank you so so so much for this.

I just found out a few weeks ago my dad has cancer and I'm getting married next year. My dad gave my future husband advice about me. This song was too deep for me and it made me cry so much especially the way the dad was fading away in the video at the end like he completed his duties just too much. I never want to think of my dad in that manner. I just can't see myself without him. I love my dad. This song just reminds me how close I am to him.

I was just like you are about not being able to imagine how much different it would be if I ever lost him. Then as the years kept getting to where I could see he was beginning to get tired, he was moving slower and was forced to start thinking about it and he and I talked about it. Not long conversation about it cause I couldn't hardly bear it. What that did allow me to do tho was to briefly allow myself to reflect on our lives and I began having various things I had wanted to say to him some I needed to say just so I would always have peace and comfort knowing that he we both had that when he was to be called to his heavenly home. My Dad made his transition to heaven 6 months ago last week. It has been a long very difficult 2 years I feel like I'm just tuned out from the rest of the world some days cause I don't want him to be gone I don't want anyone to linger if suffering and he didn't suffer for very many months. Sweetheart tell him things he'd love to hear that you have tucked away in your heart. Like anything that makes you think of him share it with him. Things he taught you how to do like tying your shoes or a song when you were little and how he told about how he remembers how you looked when he watched ya sing that certain song. That was one of my favorites. I'm still trying to learn to live life without him I still feel empty inside and miss our talks. I made some cherished memories of my Dad after I made myself start facing the time was going to be here and I needed to go ahead and start letting myself deal with that gut wrenching feeling in the pit of my stomach. It did help me when he was taken from to a much better place than here.

I'm crying right now... The best song I've ever heard about the bonding and love between a dad and daughter... I feel blessed to have a father who loves me exactly like this beautiful song. He never directly says everything but he loves and cares for me the most, even more than he loves my mom. This song reminded me again how important fathers are in our life. He always supports me in everything I do, he's always there when I need him, always guides me, protects me, never made me do something I don't want to, has given me freedom to live my life as I would want, he only wants to see me happy... I know one day he won't be there to hold me when I'll be scared, when I'll need his strength and just thinking about this is already breaking my heart. Dad I promise I'll work hard to make you feel a proud dad one day. Your girl won't disappoint you. Thank you for everything...
