It was such a pleasure to see another podcast from you folks. As Patty says at the end, we sometimes have ‘a lot of life hitting us’ and for many of us, knitting is a balm for our wounds and gives a lift to our spirits. It’s always reassuring, too, to see that we are not the only knitters who begin projects with enthusiasm but sometimes have a hard time seeing them through to the end, for whatever reason. I have recently been organizing my voluminous stash, and have another category of things left undone, for which I think we need a new acronym. That is the knitting you saw someone else do, which you became very enthusiastic about, purchased the pattern and bought the yarn, but somehow never actually got around to casting on. It’s not a WIP. What is it? For me it is often associated with a promotion. “Look at that gorgeous pattern! And the yarn is 50% off! Would be crazy not to buy it!” I am planning to clear some of my WIPs this year, and to knit from my stash as much as possible, but I will also continue to enjoy adventures with new yarns and new patterns. All the best to each of you.
@ForestCityKnitGirls9 ай бұрын
Thanks so much Marguerite! ❤️ We completely agree about knitting being a soothing balm during rough times - well said! Haha, we also have lots of those impulse patterns and yarn purchases piling up. I think they qualify as WIPs? But a more specific name would be helpful. lol Hopefully you can knock some of them off during our KAL. 😁 Take care and happy knitting! 🧶

Loved the podcast and your declaration of Year of the Wips. I confess I want to cast on all the things but I dont. Still I have only a couple of wips - a Starflake Shawl by Stephen West, and Raven a fairisle sweater by Marie Wallin - which will take me the better part of the year to complete in the middle of some socks, musselburghs and other FOs I will create. But thats ok, all the better to sit n knit with yours and others podcasts.
