Hello Lain Macdonald: Awesome video!!! Awesome forest management!!! Trees are just like any other farmed crop. Nice to look at, but if not harvested at the right time, the crop is wasted. No different than a field of wheat. Nice to look at those "amber waves" blowing in the wind, but if not harvested when mature, the crop breaks down & falls to the ground & rots. What good is that? Of course the tree huggers still complain about your practices, just like the other "eco terrorists" complain about modern agricultural practices. Easy for them to complain with a full belly & a clean ass!!!

They re-plant the trees in most areas of NZ

I know that they replant the trees in some areas, but it can take up to 20 years for the trees to grow.

but the replanted forests are much less biodiversified than the old-growth ones.

winston john they are planted pines on good farm land or if you got area’s not so good at 25 years approximately they cut them down then replant they are not native trees or native forrest. they make timber for your housing, paper etc i will tell you what is devastating is the wild pines that are taking over area’s of the south island of NZ ?
