Thank you for your interesting reaction to Forestella! Forestella has unbreakable records in Immortal Songs, like 6 consecutive winning in King of Kings which is a competition among the winners from each episode through a half year/ a whole year. They were invited to celebrate King of Kings as the icon of the show even they won no episode this period. In this performance each of Forestella represented a showman, a rockstar, a medieval artist to celebrate every artist of all genres. The Pagedance Immortal Songs PianoMan The stage production struggled a lot since the first staff meeting when each of us listened to HyungHo, DooHoon, and Mingyu about the plans they prepared for the stage composition. We, the director, I (dancer team), the costume team were like "what should we do?" thinking, "Can we make this idea come true?" We looked at each other and comforted each other that we could do it. We continued to share the real-time progress in the chat room until the shooting, making corrections and checking the corrections, and finally, the stage was completed. I thought, "WOW, Forestella is a group of people who can make the story they want to tell come true no matter what." . I admired them. I'm proud to see that many fans are recognizing that (I'm looking for all the comments) and I'm proud to be one of the best crossover groups in the world 포레스텔라 forestella Thanks to Forestella, it was hard to overcome the barrier of this crossover, but we did it. Our dancers ThePageDance did a great job in the hot weather, thank you! And Ko WooRim's voice in backing track made this performance even more perfect! Feels like they are still together in the music. I hope you to watch their concert fan-cam full view 3 songs in a row; Apocalypse, Earth Song, Nella Fantasia. You can see they are more than what you've thought.

there are 4 of them, but the bass was not in the silver jacket. he is currently doing his mandatory military service so they recorded his voice to put in in a few spots. and yes think of it more as a broadway production. they changed it to an anthem to music.

Like others said Woo Rim is currently in the millitary doing his mandatory service. The other 3 have completed their services. The one in silver is Dae Hoon, the baritone. The first performance i saw after Woo Rim enlisted was Show Must Go On. It just shook my soul

Thank you for your reaction!! I think you would enjoy their rock songs more. Legends Never Die, Warriors, Their original Utopia (2 part of a trilogy, first part save our lives) The grit was made by Hyung Ho, the rocker of the group (pitta is the name of his rock band)

The base is doing his mandatory military service. He will return in May. So they performed this as a trio. The base voice was in certain parts of the background vocals. The three of them tried to represent three different genre’s of music in three different time periods and are dressed that way. Forestella were special invitees at the King of Kings competition on the Immortal songs show. Although they did not compete, they were asked to perform since they held the King of Kings title six times in a row. So this was their special presentation. Remember they are presenting to a conservative audience in Korea. So expect cleaner versions of all songs . Nothing else will work there.

I find your discussions among yourselves endlessly entertaining. 😄 It's just fun to hear your different takes on things and witness them clash. 👍 The angle or angles you're approaching Forestella from are also very faszinating to me. I've got the impression that you're still trying to figure out what their deal is. Maybe that's just me 😅 Anyway, as you all (?) don't seem to be big fans of the highly produced nature of the last couple of videos of theirs you watched, I would recommend stepping away from their Immortal Songs performances for a bit. Yes, those are the ones that tend to garner the most attention, but probably exactly for the reasons they don't ressonate with some of you guys. As you correctly pointed out: it's pageantry. However, that's just one facet of Forestella. May I offer you some counter-programming? I have no idea if you'll like it or if the style is remotely up your alley. However, it's so different from their big stage performances that I suggest you try it anyway - if it interests you at all, of course. I think it is more intresting when singers do their own version instead of just copying the orginal. that's what i like about Forestella they always do their own version, BUT of cours with a lot of respect to the orginal song and the artist! 😇 I liked your reaction! i can understand why some of you have different opinion :) i recommend you to check other songs as well! their orginal songs maybe? like Save Our Lives, Utopia and White Night!

I know you guys like some background, so here goes😝😜: You might need to take a nap(or 2) …it’s long.: It was a celebratory stage for Forestella since their last win in December 2022, hence the long intro😅.They are still the current undefeated & unprecedented 6x CONSECUTIVE winners of this KBS Immortal Songs 👑 😅King of Kings battle trophy 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆. It’s the holy grail for all Immortal Songs 2 contestants. There are 2 👑 King of Kings battles each year…mid-year & year-end. Every week there are episode winners who survive about 5 rounds, but out of all of those , only about 5 to 7 acts qualify for the chance to compete in the 6monthly battle episode to win the 👑 King of Kings trophy. Battle episode winner is also determined by the audience like the qualifying episode winners. Contestants are responsible for their staging & presentation & music arrangements & each of the episodes has a theme or a particular legend’s music that has to be covered.…so no originals. In this case this was not a competing performance, rather a special opening act, where they were being lauded for their unique historic achievement between 2019 and 2022. In June 2021 the mid-year stage had no battle in lieu of Immortal Songs’ 10th Anniversary celebration where Forestella did MJ’s SMOOTH CRIMINAL 🤩…(a sight to behold & hear actually). This Piano Man interpretation was Forestella showing their eclectic music background & tastes …celebrating the journey, celebrating the chance they took in 2017 when they met at that audition for Phantom Singer 2, where Forestella was born & went on to win the season. MinGyu & Woorim knew each other from University where they both studied opera singing, though 6years apart. Here as in all their covers, they are also introducing younger generations to discover Billy Joel’s original music. MinGyu in the white & blue is more classical/olde world, Doohoon in the silver suit more musical theatre/ contemporary/r&b & HyungHo showed his rock-singer status together with the screens behind them as clues …4th singer, the bass Woorim is still in the military til May 2025, but they included his voice subtly in parts of the song. They never ever intend to copy the original ….that would be pointless. Song choice is at the core of what they do….it all starts there. Immortal Songs requires a reworking of songs, a different interpretation, etc not a carbon copy of the original. They demonstrate that you can use non-mainstream ways to celebrate a song using an unconventional group of vocalists and still make great music for which there clearly is an audience given their world-wide following. They know they can’t please everyone. Not their problem. They have a wide discography covering just about all genres with a few exceptions, so there is plenty to choose from. Plus don’t underestimate Korean musicians & audiences’ music knowledge😊…Americans led the recovery after the 1953 war when North and South Korea split, so there is a heavy influence in the music psyche over there…even giving birth to traditional music infused with it like eg TROT which is a genre very much born out of that era. You can see how they sang along to this first ever performance of P M by Forestella. Forestella intended to take this song of misery, lost dreams & dashed hopes & turned it into a song that asked what if those asking the piano man to sing them a song.. actually got to follow their hopes and dreams like Forestella did, instead of being stuck in that dive drowning their sorrows longing for what could have been. Just a heads up. Those ladies you mentioned in the audience , some of those men & women might also be in your comment sections..they are REAL fans …not actors. Also people are there for the artists they’re cheering so it’s a mixed voting audience. Forestella has an extremely loyal fan base since their beginning in 2017…the name is Soopbyeol….Soop = Forest + Byeol = star …Stella = star in Italian..that’s how Forest+stella led to Forestella. Also SOOPBYEOL ( sounds like: soopbeeyall ..said really fast )…it’s both the name of the fandom as well as the translation of Forestella into Korean!🎉Fun fact: Woorim, MinGyu and Doohoon were already formed in the competition in the Trio phase as Forest, so when the self-trained HyungHo, who became a star (Stella in Italian) with his unusual tenor soprano voice that had gone viral after his audition, joined Forest in the quartet stage of the competition … they added Stella & so FORESTELLA was born. 😊Now you may not find any of this worth knowing😅 , but sometimes a little history is worth knowing to promote understanding and to add a little substance, right? 😊If you made it to the end without incident, I am deeply appreciative. ❤🙋🏻‍♀️
