Ren Zhizhong was born in February 1972, his ancestral home is Shaanxi. He was admitted to the Affiliated High School of China Academy of Art in 1987, and was recommended to study in the Oil Painting Department of China Academy of Art in 1991. He studied under famous oil painters such as Quan Shanshi, Hu Zhenyu, and Xu Mangyao. Under the guidance of famous oil painters, he systematically learned and mastered the painting techniques and material characteristics of traditional realistic oil paintings, and conducted a long-term combing and research on the history and related theories of oil painting. As a result, he acquired a comprehensive and rich oil painting literacy and has a solid and rigorous basic oil painting skills. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in 1995 and received the first Master of Arts degree from the Ministry of Education in 2008. In 2015, he entered the Quanshan Oil Painting Creation and Research Class for further study, and in 2017, he entered the Ministry of Culture's Thematic Art Creation Research Class for further study. He is currently the director of the Basic Department of China Academy of Art and a master's tutor. His works have won awards in national art and oil painting exhibitions for many times and have been collected by art institutions and individuals at home and abroad.
