Foresthill OHV | Trail 2-5-6 | New Bridge Trail 6

The start of Trail 6 is at the 8:20 min mark
We wanted to check out the new bridge on trail 6 so we started at Sugar Pine Staging and hit trail 1 to 2 to 5 over to 6. I know this video is long but wanted to capture the sense of adventure that trail 6 is - lots of slow 1st grinding and it's a blast to ride!

I've ridden that trail many times but not for quite some time and we started staging from the China Flat staging area once we discovered it was there, sad to see how much damage the fire did, that trail because of the fire is going to have some erosion issues in the future, it's a great ride but not for inexperienced riders, I rode it when there was part of the trail had eroded away around a tree and my bar hit the tree and luckily my bike stayed put but I remember seeing my boots going backwards over my head as I tumbled down the side of the canyon totally out of control, I ended up sticking out my arms and grabbing on to whatever I could to stop, it was a bit scary, my buddy thought I was going to tumble all the way down the mountain, I climbed back up, we had a good laugh and headed on our way to finish the ride.

Nice!! We went a couple months back and the bridge on 6 was still out of commission, we dropped down in the river stream and wrestled the bikes up on the other side😂😅 i much rather ride accross the bridge though,lol Whoever built it, thank you for your hard work!

Nice job on whoever did the bridge. Looks sturdy 👍🏼. Just finished watching the whole thing, trail 6 looks like a hand full, those switch backs are super tight and rocky, @39:50 I thought you guys were gonna fall over, than @50:15, lol never seen that move 😅,looks like a super fun but challenging trail, lol exhausted from just watching 👌

The 39:50 mark was more tricky in real life than what GoPro looked like. lol I almost went over the bars on two of those switch backs coming down. They are tight and in some spots loose on the edge. Trail 6 def keeps your attention. If you stage at China Wall and just do trail 6 from there it's about 22 miles total. We're hoping to hit it one more time this year.

10:04 😵‍💫...thought you were going over 💀 great video ill have to check out the rest later, I'm only about 15min in, I noticed the new bag right off the bat, how is it? looks a lot nicer than the giant loop bag I use. next time I take on 5 or attempt 6 I would take a clear visor. I also found it to be very dark back there and very hard to see with a tinted visor. its trails like these that make me want a 2stoke. also props to your friend on the 500, I ride one too and they're a handful in these super tight trails. ride on 👍

ha, same when I smacked that tree. I absolutely love that bag. I have the giant loop bag as well and my iphone barely fits in that bag. I run Havoc Racing goggles (magnetic lenses) I was able to carry two gopro batteries, clear lens, iphone and snacks.

I can't believe it took them that long to replace that bridge. I moved 3+ years ago, and it was down then....

It took a fire for them to replace it. It's solid now and hoping it last a very long time!

Trail 6 is a lot easier than it used to be I've been riding there for 30 years and have seen it at its worst lol

How difficult do you think loop 6 would be on an electric mountain bike? I rode the west side of loop 6 a few days ago, but ended up mostly walking my bike (especially down Codfish Ridge) due to the technical terrain. Is the east side of loop 6 (~9 miles in length) connecting to the Western States trail easier and less technical?

Why did you guys turn around at the bridge? Is the trail clear all the way around? Thinking about checking it out this weekend

It’s 💯 clear and good to go. I left my hoodie at the first bridge so we went back to get it. It’s a fun one. If you stage at sugar pine and do what we did you’re looking about 48 miles (including the full loop on 6)

Were you riding Trail 6 CCW or CW? Which direction is "easier"?

I'd say either direction is about the same. If you go counter clockwise you'll go down the long hill before the bridge, but I think either way isn't too bad. This is trail 6 when you cross over Foresthill Road.
