FYI, tilt chainsaw in appropriate angle to direct direction the tree falls. ie: cut slightly higher on left down to right to get tree to fall to the right

I have been clearing out all of the trees surrounding the original cow pasture that comes with the standard farm. (Taken me a lifetime with chainsaw and forestry mulcher). This video just cut my labor time needed in half. Thank you

Tree will fall based on the chainsaw direction just like in fs22, rotate the saw left or right. If the bottom faces left the tree falls 90° to the left; if it faces to the right, it'll fall 90°to the right

Correction: trees fall where you point the chainsaw (drops in direction of chainsaw, left or right) so pretty much just like a real chainsaw you have full control of aim. also literally every single crane equipment has a crane camera lol

I use the Merlo telehandler with a frontweight atached to the back. Works for most of the trees. The real big ones i cut in halve.

I just use a winch and tractor to drag trees short distances. It does have a weight limit but it's usually only two trips.

Just like in real life harvesters are made for pine fur and those kinds of soft wood because the branches are brittle they aren't meant for oaks and maple. The skidder has a winch you can use as well as the grapple just an FYI

Conifers to me just faster to harvest. Load quicker and haul away and easier to store.

They are faster per tree, yes but consider that the heaviest conifer that you can use a harvester on is the lodgepole at 2.2 tons(as far as I know) while the heaviest deciduous is the Northern Catalpa at 15.5 tons. You would have to harvest and process 7 lodgepoles for every 1 catalpa.

I invested money into the L180H ( I think that’s what it’s called) the weight of it is plenty to handle big shagbark trees. It may be worth more since you can get the big 10,000L bucket. And other attachments.

Which attachment are you using for trees? I have the smaller volvo wheel loader and the log grapple that's recommended doesn't work well. I end up pushing logs more than picking them up.

@ I used the big grapple. I haven’t had any issue with it picking up big trees and the small pieces I cut.

Get the lumberjack mod and you can delete tree stumps and those small annoying trees

I just cut it down to 6.6 tons and pull them with my $6,000 winch. I find it works alot better than most things.

Thats how I did it for a while too. I find this big truck much easier but now I am faced with a different problem. Lack of close by trees.

The trees always fall to your left the line on the chainsaw like real life if you cut correctly is used to aim the tree to fall spot

The winch has a max of 6.5 tons so its not possible unless you get a modded winch.

I was able to get rid of the stump with the lumberjack mod :) I am using this mod to toggle the ui on and off www.kingmods.net/en/fs25/mods/57564/hud-hider

For the sawmill weight is the only thing that matters now. You can haul 1 American Elm that is 10+ tons or 5 Lodgepoles at 2.2 tons each and it will fill the wood the same amount.

Good content. You also get the zero profanity medal, very rare as most people think its an essential communication 'skill' at the moment. You have extreme patience. I have hated forestry the entire time its been in F SIM. (cant remember which one but it was around 2015 because I'd been producing YT videos for a year or two at the time.) Have done a few reviews and in my opinion, forestry has not improved AT ALL to date. Terrible physics , lazy implementation. Many hours of struggling and I just will not do any unless its for field clearance.

It would definitely work on a car that isn't decoration. Most medium tractors are less than 10 tons so if it can co a catalpa it can definitely do a car.
