Glad you liked the 550 Jon, would be a welcome bit of kit to anyone's arsenal that does ground clearance work. Think it would have been interesting to see it running with the type of mulcher head you use, you'd probably get a better idea of its capabilities. Mike has to be one of the nicest people out there, he's always willing to share and support.

Looks like you might be making a change in the future...........I got the baby version, TV450B and I love mine. I'm not doing mulching work with it yet, but hopefully in the future. I am very impressed with the power of the 90 HP machine with pushing power and lifting power. Was hoping to see it in Charlotte NC this Friday but unfortunately I won't be able to make it.

!!!!!! I have a huge personal problem with rubber tracks on a skid steer which have to endure, especially travelling over short tree stumps. Endlessly. Metal tracks for this application is just common sense on any skis steer doing mulshing. A brilliant move. Very well done case! God bless!!

So you pushed the limits on the machine on a good-sized Hackberry tree. Those things are almost as tough as a Hedge Iron tree, aka: orange sage, horse apple. I think it did alright.

Looks good with steel tracks but I do come down on trees to make sure the hole tree is mulched. If you hit it at the bottom then you have to chase it all around on the ground especially if it’s a hardwood or any size. Have a great day.

Dude I got lot seat time and own my own machines. Iv never done any mulching but can immediately see wen an operator is getting it or not getting it done. Lol. And could not agree more on the pawing technique. U obviously have good feel in a machine. I ran a Bandit 3680 80k lb self propelled track grinder in wood yards here in CA for over 5yrs making hog fuel for bio mass. I broke the windows out of a 320 twice by feeding the tub directly behind grinder and have the yoke up and debris launch off rotor and hit front glass on hoe. Least once a day I would get tagged by veg material launching out grinder. It would dent body panels on hoe and would get ur attention real real fast sum times ud need to check ur shit cuz it made such a loud noise like a gun going off in cab. Flying veg material is no joke. Enjoyed ur video u guys seem like good dudes. Stay grinding bro. 👍

This machine seems perfect for forestry work. Once the bugs are ironed out, it will be a beast. Probably will need to add a "forestry mulcher mode" to the software. The improved traction of the dozer tracks only make sense for this kinda work.
@rirebel6029
@rirebel6029 10 ай бұрын
You would think so but there is a big price tag that comes with it . The weight of that machine and the metal single grouser pads make it much harder to move around with a pickup and impossible to run up a customer's driveway without putting plywood or tires down

Just at a first glance some things jumped out at me. #1 For the wieght of the machine its under powdered. #2 Hydraulic flow isn't any better than most other brands. #3 Visibility isn't that great. Thats a huge factor when working these (compact) machines in tight areas. It no longer becomes useful in tight areas when you don't have visibility. #4 Hopefully Case has come a long way with there reliability in this machine. Every machine has there negatives, just need to know what you are willing to put up with.

This combo is definitely for large land clearing and not for making residential backyards look nicer, which is your specialty. The steel tracks…do they accidentally go off track like the softer rubber ones and how would that be handled on the job?

I'd like to see one of these go head to head with a fecon 128 or something of the sort. I ran a fecon for a while on transmission lines (150 wide right of way) and they were perfect. Later I ran it on distribution lines (30 foot right of way) for several months, the terrain was far to rough for a rubber tracked machine, and the power of the fecon helped alot as opposed to a skidsteer. I would be curious to see if this machine would be a good middle ground between a skidsteer and a fecon. The Fecon just took alot longer to move around on distribution work, narrow passes and tight turn arounds.

Seams like it’s just way under powered the little stuff if just kills the motor , my Bobcat will run circles around that model JS Maybe it’s the operator but before I put it on social media I would have tested it more …

I also forgot to mention standard high flow is one direction, EHFis the other on the big couplers. The reason is the system Is a hydrostat, the reliefs are different for both directions, you need the jumper harnes to allow you to use the other direction for the 40 gpm 4100psi
