This game honestly left me in tears. Just think about the situation. They’re forced to hurt each other, victims of their own nature. I can’t say there’s a true happy ending either, as both sides end up suffering and neither of them deserve that.

@@unknowns78 I like the ending when she convinces you as the Titan. Either way, she is still the princess in my view. I have played this game about 8 times now, and I can honestly say the Narrator is the true enemy. That as much I can say without giving away some of the hidden gems in this game. My fav princess is the Advisory route 2nd the spector. I even unlocked a kiss scene yesterday which was awesome.

[SPOILERS] Hey, Nenaa! There’s another ending where you go along with what she’s saying when she’s The Shifting Mound. If you ask too many questions, it automatically goes into her fighting you. But there’s an option near the bottom to do what she’s asking and free her in this form. There’s also another ending I got with the version of her in the cabin. I forget the exact question combination, but it opens up the option for both of you to just walk away from everything instead of you killing her or restarting the loop. NOW, huge grain of salt. I’m not saying this is the absolute truth of what the game is saying. I’m just trying to put into words my interpretation of what’s going on because Nenaa said she wanted to hear what we think. Also, there is a difference between The Narrator as the original alive person that set this whole thing up and The Narrator(s) as the echoing voice of that person after he died that manipulates us throughout the game, but I’m still going to refer to both as just “The Narrator” moving forward. The way I see it is that the princess is the concept of change. Time flowing, you getting older, you dying, plants growing - all changes. The Narrator, fearing death to the point that he wants to keep away from his loved ones, isolates the concept of change (which we manifest into the form of a princess) and makes us (The Long Quiet) to hide her in. The way The Narrator sees it is: if we kill her there’s no more death because nothing can ever change (tunnel vision, not thinking about anything else the lack of change will affect). Also, she changes based on our choices because like I said we’re the one giving her a form (the narrator himself said we chose to make it a princess). I have another theory about us as The Long Quiet. The Long Quiet is The Narrator’s dead body with the concept of change (the Princess) stuck inside of it. The Narrator said he had to un-alive himself to make this happen (where she’s trapped inside of us and going through these loops). The Princess (as the Shifting Mound) told us that we (Princess + player voices EXCEPT THE NARRATOR) were once one until The Narrator separated us - “When the Echo (the Narrator) spun us from one into two…”. So, I like to think that The Narrator found a way to trap the concept of change inside of himself, and we’re the reason his plan had to involve himself dying. We are The Long Quiet - the small part of change that IS when death happens, but we’re his own death specifically. That’s also why I think we’re stronger than her, because death would be more prevalent than change in a dead body (at some point change will stop for the body, but death is permanent). And it fits with the endings too. If we slay her, change stops. Again, I say The Long Quiet is The Narrator’s dead body lying somewhere, so we open it up to see the sky of what we changed the world into with our actions - a red ball that I assume used to be the Sun and a desolate sky. In the ending where you leave The Narrator’s body with the princess as The Shifting Mound, you open up the body and get to see plants growing outside of the body as a result of letting her go.

Oh yeah, and to add to that I AM implying that The Narrator messed up (or miscalculated) and the ending where we kill the Princess but free ourselves is where we take out all parts of change that AREN’T DEATH/DYING/DECAY. I said in my explanation that I believe we are death/concept of dying, AND it’s true that the princess is our literal other half in being the concept of change, SO she would actually be the part of change that is life/living in general going by my interpretation. So, either The Narrator screwed up and didn’t think we’d leave if he knew we were death or he thought SHE was death, OR he was lying and he actually wanted for only death to remain. Hmmm to put it into better words: we are change as a state of decaying and the princess is change as a state of growing. If that makes more sense. So without her, the new world we see is just a constant state of decay.

It's a really good interpretation, but the Universe is in a terrible state, the world is old and is about to die, which is why he wanted to get rid of death, in the ending where we kill her, the thing we see is not a sun, it's a red dwarf (and it has symbolism, forgot what it was)

Also the long quiet is the concept of emptiness and stagnation, so like imagine a cup, right? The cup is the world, and the water filling the cup is the princess, but in between the cup and the water is emptiness that allows the water to fill the empty space. That's sort of how it works

She was renowned for her stellar gaming skills, particularly in horror games. With countless speedrun world records under her belt, including the most horror games played in a day and the most games completed without getting jumpscared, she was a sensation in the gaming community. Neena's room was a gamer's haven, adorned with posters of her favorite titles and a powerful gaming PC that could handle any virtual challenge thrown her way. One summer evening, as the sun dipped below the horizon, Neena's parents announced that they were leaving for a week-long vacation. Her mother and father were excited about their adventure, but Neena, being the dedicated gamer that she was, decided to stay home and continue her conquest of the virtual world. It was a decision she would soon come to regret. With her parents' departure, Neena settled into a routine of intense gaming. Neena's blood ran cold as she realized someone knew she was home alone. "Who are you?" she stammered. The voice continued, "You may not know me, but I know you, 8-bit Neena. And I have a message for you." Fear gripped Neena, and she demanded answers. "What do you want?" The voice laughed malevolently. "I want to play a game, Neena. A game of life and death." Suddenly, Neena heard a noise behind her and spun around. In the doorway stood a figure cloaked in darkness, brandishing a gleaming knife. Panic surged through her as she realized the intruder was inside her house. Neena bolted toward the back door, desperately searching for an escape. She knew she had to get out of the house and call for help. But as she reached for the handle, it wouldn't budge. The intruder was closing in. The menacing voice taunted her, "You can't run, Neena. I'm already here." With no other option, Neena dashed back upstairs to her room and barricaded the door. She grabbed her phone and dialed 911, her hands trembling as she recounted the chilling events. The operator assured her that help was on the way, but the minutes dragged on like hours as she awaited their arrival. As Neena huddled in her room, she received another call from her parents. They had decided to check in on her and were just minutes away from home. Panic gripped her again as she realized the danger they were unknowingly walking into. The police arrived just in time to intercept the intruder, who had been lurking in the shadows of Neena's house. It turned out that the mysterious caller was a notorious serial killer who had been targeting Neena's family. The police arrested the intruder, and Neena's parents returned home, shaken but unharmed. In the aftermath of that harrowing night, Neena realized that not all challenges could be conquered with gaming skills alone. The experience taught her the value of real-life instincts and the importance of family and safety. While her gaming records were impressive, it was the night she faced a real-life horror that truly defined her. From that day forward, 8-bit Neena continued to excel in the virtual world, but she never forgot the night a killer had come knocking at her door. And she was determined to use her fame and skills to raise awareness about safety and security, both in the gaming world and the real world* . Compared to this game its kind of mid but I do enjoy the charcters such as Sayori and Natsuki. The best part about Doki Doki is that I can mode the game. I also figured out how to mode another game called Dont Toy with me using ren py. In truth I might be able to mode this game if I can find the steam files or buy the Gog version.

It’s not because someone forces her to do something, but because she’s the Shifting Mound’s vessel. She even tells you this. The Narrator always tells you she is “just a princess” so you don’t think she is almighty and make her almighty. In Adversary ending she becomes immortal after you think she is.
