Legend of Korra - Anime Opening 4 | "Liar Mask" (Akame Ga Kill OP)

Better late than never right? Lol sorry for the wait on this one, I honestly had a creator's block for a minute trying to figure out which OP to do for this one and the fact that I got pretty busy the last two weeks. Luckily I was able to come up with a little something that hopefully is able to really make Book 4 of Korra look good and done justice! And this wraps up the Korra OPs, hope you all enjoy this!

I just get distracted with all these new shows 😅 But I’ve kinda worked on a Castlevania one, but it’s probably gonna be redone since I started to do the Avatar videos instead. LOK actually turned out pretty good considering the crap the creators were dealt with. More people need to realize that it’s a separate entity from ATLA. The shit the creators went through really showed how crappy Nickelodeon can be.

I agree, it’s funny because people blame Mike and Brian for the writing of the show but they seem to forget that some of the best episodes in the last Airbender were written by them, just goes to show that even if they didn’t have the original writing team with them then the show would have been fine had Nickelodeon treated it with the same amount of respect that it gave to atla. I know i am right because I am currently taking an animation class and a classmate of mine brought up Avatar the last Airbender and at some point my professor revealed that he worked as an intern for the show(so I’m not sure if he was working with the cast when they created legend of Korra) then someone asked which series was better I voted for The last Airbender, however, I stated that “had nickelodeon not interfered as much as it did then I think it would have been better than the last Airbender” and you know what my professor replied to my statement? He said “I agree, it was certainly possible for that to happen”

Bethany Monges They told them they would only have 1 season spin-offs, not a whole series. If I recall correctly, they also stopped airing episodes on their channel and prevented them from writing anything that added to Korra and Asami’s relationship beyond subtext.

Now this is something I never thought of, and explains why Kora feels a bit discombobulated. While I like Kora it lacked a cohesive direction and if they were given the ability from the get go to create a cohesive story I fully believe Kora could have surpassed ATLA. It's a shame when Bureaucracy gets in the way.

Alright I’ve seen all 7 of the Avatar openings. I have to say this is a testament to how amazing the animation is. From Studio Mir all the way back to JM Animation and DR Movie days. The fact they animated a ton of Anime openings and applied it throughout the series is one of the reasons why these edits works on so many levels. Animation is always top tier, excelling the average episode by Studio Pierrot - you can literally take any scene almost and it’ll look like your anime opening level of animation. I’ve loved your edits and it really went well with the vibe most anime openings are accustomed to. You understand the rhythm and pacing and transitions and all of it. I’m sad you don’t feel as enthusiastic for the last two books of the series, but Book 4 I thought excelled your Book 3 edit. This also makes me wonder how Avatar would have fared in Japan ratings had it had traditional openings and endings ...

Oh don’t get my criticisms of Korra wrong lol. For one I LOVED Book 3, but not so much Book 4. But as much shit I give Korra, I love it. It’s a beautiful mess and a testament to how talented the creators and animators and the whole team that put it together really care for it despite each moment Nick was ready to cancel or get rid of it. I own all the episodes and I binge them pretty regularly with ATLA lol. These OPs are really my way of finding the good and the love of the series and shining light on them, and the reason why I believe that these are my strongest work is because I LOVE the entire Avatar franchise from top to bottom. The good and the bad, it’s something i love dearly. But thank you!

If korra gets a remaster i want the plot to be like amon first ( he never gets defeated he escapes cuz he got revealed and got korra's bending away but she got it back) S2 avatar state S3 electricity bending S4 spirits and S2 is against kuvira escapes S3 against zaheer escapes again S4 spirits they gang up on korra and avatar team but then amon out of nowhere takes away all the villain's bending and fuses with vaatu

@@jayruusamaa obviously some changes would need to made for that order to work But if we compare the scale of the threat between seasons then book 2 was clearly a much bigger threat fitting for a finale I can't be the only one that thought they were clearly building up something a lot more threatening with the spirit vines in book 4? (Only to be extremely disappointed when it turned out to be a giant robot) Heck that would have actually been a pretty good way to forshadow vattu and the dark spirits if the seasons did go in the order I suggested

The worst aspect of Korra in my opinion is the romance. In TLA the relationships had many seasons of build up while in Korra they either felt forced or came out of left field.

I agree. It always seemed to be the franchise Achilles heel, but I do think Korra suffered the worst from it. Honestly a lot of character dynamics and relationship suffered because of the episode count. There’s more problems I have with the series but that’s definitely one of them lol

ForeverRed3000 If the live action atla series does well to the point where a legend of Korra live action is green lit Then I hope they take advantage of this and take out the love triangle and replace it with scenes that will develop the characters and even the romance between Asami and Korra, after all according to them they couldn’t develop the Asami and Korra romance because they were concerned about how nickelodeon would react to this which is understandable but now it would be on Netflix so they have no excuses.
