Thanks James. I wish I could have seen this when I started my forex journey six years ago. It could hv lessen the pain. True structure in price is important. It gives higher probability of success. The impulse and retrace movement shows the direction of price movement. Patience can be achieved if you understand the price movement. Without this understanding you can't maintain the patience. Let the price come to you, don't chase the market. This is just my 2cent idea...

Also if price breaks structure with ine candle and the next candle has a strong wick towards that zone does that count as a retest ? or does price needs to move away from zone and come back ??? This is king. I use higher time frames to determine directional bias. I use the COT report to confirm direction of the week. The cot report is where the big boys are, the hedge funds and big banks. Their current open positions. That report and market structure is everything man.

Hi I just recently started incorporating COT data into my structure trading. Please if you can give some useful tips it will be very helpful to me. I am a swing trader and trade off 1hr, 4h structures after Daily time frame bias. But COT data is weekly so I am finding it hard to understand how to fit the weekly data into my trades that mostly takes place in Daily or 4 hourly time frames. Thank you in advance

COT reports are future contracts so what you see there is what those traders (smart money) are expecting to happen into the future. Weeks from there (if not months). So if you are using 1H timeframes use price structure (price action) and some fundamentals (from that week or day).

MKG I use COT report to determine weekly directions. I use the daily to confirm that direction. So I don’t trade on Mondays. I trade from mid Tuesday to Friday. Then I use 1H for entries. And I look at market structure on the 1H and 4H.

Sometimes, 30 minutes for entries. And I advice you organize the historical cot data for this year in an excel file and backtest this year i.e. if you just started using it. You can the excel file and see how it looks on osteen forex on KZbin. Check the video with the title about risk to reward.
