I stumbled on stop hunting by accident. I was trading stocks to capture the dividend when I noticed a deep dive in price just before the dividend ex date, then a sudden rise just afterwards. My first thought was a multitude of stop losses were triggered and then I thought I discovered something that no one else knew! I was wrong, lots of traders know about it. My strategy is stop loss avalanche hunting and I like to enter after all of the stop losses have been exhausted. So, technically, I'm not a stop hunter but rather a hunter of the avalanches caused by stop loss triggers. Fun way to trade in my elderly age.
