Nick, Thanks for another well researched history of Forgan Golf, and a fine example of a set. Geoff.

I recently bought 2 Forgan wedges and they are amazing. Best clubs I've hit in all my 50 years of golfing. Time and time again I hit the 52 wedge so well I want the whole set. They are simple wedges much like the Vokey design. I think it's the bounce sole that is just perfectly designed. My Titliest DCR's are very close to the same sole but I've never hit them as consistently well as these Forgans. I am looking to buy a new set of the wedges and perhaps try and find a set of irons that matches the sole bounce.

there were shaft tubes sold in the catalogs shown in Kaplan's guide...so, my guess is that since all the ferrals are the same, the pyratone shafts were either broken or just needed to be put on. My elder Pro friend mentioned he spent alot of his assistant pro time replacing pyratone tubes.... WOW!!! you're not kidding about the cost for an original "Golfers Handbook" - $2000 to $5000 for hardback & $9000 for a first edition! ~$30 "new" via Abe Books in the USA Love the pic of Robert Forgan....

I'm pretty sure that the chrome shafts were as supplied, the shaft labels directly onto the chrome indicate that. The others are finished in enamel paint rather than Pyratone. In the UK enamel paint was by far the commonest shaft coating, Pyratone seems to have been used only in the earliest years of steel shafts.
