I was so confused around how you were going to forge weld without the magic hammer...then you bring it out around 2:48...well done sir.

That is a very cool project for the holidays. Love the number stamp holder. Any chance you could do a small video on that piece?

I did a vid on 29-Jan-2019 called Making a Metal Stamp Holder which is almost like this one. I've given quite a few of them away. I've simplified it much, like the handle doubles as the striking surface and the T shaped block that stays in is just that. There's no need for it to be shaped like a capitol I. If you need close ups of it it let me know.

I thought you were going to do that out of one chunk of iron. Looks good anyway!!

Thought it could be done out of a piece of 1/2 X 1/2 and a hacksaw (more than likely a band saw) but this is MUCH easier.

I haven’t ever noticed a green flame when I tried to weld. I just use borax. Does the green come from your flux? Nice job and video!

I've been told it is the flux however I've seen it when there was no flux. I wonder if it's the copper content in the steel.

Also, there are a lot of people who are unable to see the green flame.
