History channel I very much enjoy forged in fire however I find it so annoying during the testing stage (usually after round 2) when there are such ridiculous slow motion shots. They are very often pointless and generally unnecessary. There is space for slow mo but the way it's used is like the show is produced/edited by a high school media studies student not a professional at a major TV channel on a massive show.

At the hit rapier swords was the handgun of today. ever noble person has & trained on this weapon. enyone can shot a gun but it takes a person with balls to kill up closes. in your face close to kill like lass then 1 foot aka point blank range that is 000 range. that's putting the barul on or in there throut fire!

Rules for winning Forged in Fire: 1. Use spring steel stock. Don't do Damascus/pattern welded steel. 2. Make your weapon as light as reasonably possible. 3. Make sure your handle is rounded and comfortable. 4. Get the heat treatment right. 5. Put some kind of shock-absorbing material in the handle.

Sergeant Rainstorm meant to protect against the rebounding metal bits should the blade experience a catastrophic failure. The shock alone could br3ak a bone in the arm holding the sword. Worse yet parts of the blade could spin around impaling the person holding it. That reason is also why they wouldn't the second blade through the strngth tests since it occured multiple fatigue points making it more likely to snap.

@Asghaad Жыл бұрын
@@maizjsj doesnt matter itf its "secondary" the military rapier is CUT and thrust weapon capable of severing limbs with cuts by the same "logic" most longswords whould never be tested in thrust because they were primarily cut focused blades with thrust as a secondary (unless later specifically designed to be specialized in thrust) ... but you would still expect it to be tested in this scenario in a thrust because even as a secondary function its important part of the weapon as a whole because thrusting with longsword is just as important to overall function of the weapon as the cut is for the rapier

All the smith's when it comes to the final challenge being a sword "iV'e NeVeR mAdE a SwOrD bEfOrE" like bruh, what have you been making?
@gabriellemus58303 жыл бұрын
there is a big difference between making knives and making swords, most blacksmiths only make tools, never swords XD

Proving that a XVIth/XVIItn century rapier was indeed a formidable weapon. Probably the top of European sword design and the endproduct of centuries of evolution. Lethal in the hands of a skilful and trained swordfighter.

The flex test may be the most suspenseful of all the tests; just waiting for the blade to snap 😱
