Really great video Sashi 🙌 , I have a doubt here when you are creating send-mail api in controller, why we are saving newToken , when there is no error in sendMail, we have already created token (token) and added into db

That token we are just saving it for now. Because in future if you want to create resend email then you will have to validate the user with the previous token and it the token is same then will generate a new token and send the new reset link with the payload

Thanks for your comment, let me explain you the reason behind it🙂 When we are working on enterprise level application we usually make use of cloud to store the sensitive information like password, connection string etc. So there are cloud provided vaults from AWS and Azure. We usually make use of those services. But this series is not targeting cloud related content this is purely for development purpose to learn the MEAN stack. I will definitely do one video to demonstrate the storing sensitive information on cloud services 🙂

This is strange, but whatever I do, it goes into CreateError(500, "Reset link has expired."). I checked it twice. I tried different expiry time numbers, I even tried without any expiry time. Where could my mistake be?

maybe you accidently hashed the users current password instead of the new one? I did that and kept receiving that error.
