5:52 was by far my favourite image. This camera is very good, altough today, a bit pricey, suffering the same problem that the T2. However, comparing both cameras is just ridiculous, the Contax is far superior on every single aspect.
@ZainRiza4 жыл бұрын
Did you watch the whole video? I basically make the same conclusion that the T2 is better in every aspect but the point of the video is to shed light on other far more affordable options that would hold their own against it. The T2 is literally ten times more expensive than the Nikon, but is it 10 times better? That's the point of the comparison. Both cameras will eventually break beyond repair; the difference with the Nikon is that you'd have lost an expensive meal's worth of money, not a month's wages. Also, thank you; that photo is also one of my all time favourites taken with this camera.
@Mmxxaamm4 жыл бұрын
@@ZainRiza I mean not necessarily, the myth of this cameras eventually becoming a brick is (kinda) fake, and fed with a lot of hatred on analog communities towards the Contax. People basically started saying that (opposite from Leica p&s models) because Kyocera went broke and closed for good. But there’s still plenty people around the globe who can repair most of the electronics from your T2, in NY there’s a well known store who bring this ones to life. It’s not cheap, but you don’t have the live with an 800 dollar brick holding your papers anymore. And obviously this Nikon is far easier to repair, and there are lots of spare parts around (and there gonna be for a while).

Hello Zain. Great video, I will see some more of your stuff. My mum died three years ago, and among her things I found the Nikon L35AF (400 iso). It has been lying in a box ever since, and I thought about giving it away for charity. After seeing your vid I will NEVER surrender it, and I hope My Sun will find it after ME sometime. Thank you for the great vid, pls stay safe, regards from Tino, Denmark :-)

No worries Shen. You're going to love this little camera. I recently sold it because I needed the money to buy a lens I REALLY wanted. Unfortunately, point and shoots haven't fit my style for the past year so it was a VERY tough decision to sell it. Regardless, I still think that L35AF lens is still one of the sharpest on any camera.

How does the Hi Matic AF2 compare to the l35 ?

Pretty similar camera. Both plastic, fantastic. Hi Matic doesn't have auto wind or advance. The lens on it is also fantastic. It even beeps to warn if the scene is underexposed or too close to focus. I'd be very content with either camera.

@ZainRiza4 жыл бұрын
well firstly that's amazing. What a camera to give you. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the film stocks. Which film stock you shoot depends on the look you're going for. Personally, my favourite colour film stocks are Fuji Pro400H, Portra 160 and ColorPlus 200. For BW, I really like Tmaxx or Tri-X.

I own this same camera although I experience a lot of issues with the shutter button not working. It will shoot one every so often but as soon as the flash goes off it will not. Sometimes when holding the flash down it will take the photo but more likely than not it won't.. have you experienced these same issues at all?
@ZainRiza4 жыл бұрын
That's really annoying. I can't say I've had the issues you're describing. Sounds like you might some electronic issues with yours.
@jasonpeachrick20374 жыл бұрын
Three things: Firstly, on my L35AF (which is an earlier version), the ON/OFF switch feels just fine and clicks into either position. It sounds like yours is worn out. Secondly, there were two versions of this camera made. The earlier version (max. ISO 400) featured an all plastic battery door, while the later version (max. ISO 1,000) featured a plastic battery door with a metal catch added for more durability. Finally, be very careful to keep the front element free of any sort of fingerprints or oils. I had to replace the lens on mine because someone’s fingerprint hadn’t been cleaned off of the front element for so long that it burned through the coating!

I’m pretty sure I say in the video. But my main issues with it were the viewfinder being too small, I had to strain my eyes a lot, and the focus patch wasn’t bright enough in a lot of lighting situations.
