That white tent? Inside that building is what that area is actually named for: the Hjemkomst ship. It was built in the 1970s in nearby Hawley by a Moorhead guidance counselor named Robert Asp, with the goal of sailing it through the great lakes from Duluth to the Atlantic, then onto Norway. He died before the ship could take its full voyage, but he did complete it and was able to be on the ship before his death in 1980. His family and friends later completed the journey in his honor.

I enjoyed the video. My great great grandfather immigrated to Minnesota from Norway. He built his own cabin and helped to build a Norwegian church. He carved a large altar that now sits in a museum. It was an excellent video. Iam a former teacher and I am always compelled to off er constructive criticism. The part about crossing a new state was good, but could have been shorter. The viit inside the pioneer museum house, as well as the church later on could have used a few moments more maybe with a paused still shot. I look forward to your next. Thanks!

Nicest ppl ever in ND/MN. My fathers fam are from the area, but I'm born in Europe, ppl are way more Scandinavian in Mid-West than Scandinavia. Love ND/MN.

Dude. Please watch the movie. It's great. And it's not even set in Fargo.

Perhaps I should. I hear the film is an all-time classic, regardless of how accurately or not it portrays the north.
