Yeah I just bought a 95 with 168405 miles from my brother for $1,200.. all I did was change the oil flush the radiator.. interior is so clean no cracks 😯 just need about $1,000 worth of work paint job included..😎😎😎 a nice car for 2,500. he had the car for 23 years very well taken care of he just haven't drove it in 7 years🤦🏽‍♂️

My last regal GSE I paid 500$ for. Ive got 1500$ in basic mods. I brought the car to the track stock and it ran a 15.6 not exactly what I call a sleeper. 1500$ later it runs high 12s low 13s. 0-60 in 4.3 sec and 0-100 in 11 seconds. Now it's a sleeper.

Eh... It's gonna need at lot more than a thousand bucks to make 400hp on a 3800. An aggressive cam, headers, Northstar throttle body & intake, injectors, fuel pump, smaller pulley, intercooling, tuning, etc. Is gonna be way more than $1k in just parts alone, even if you can score everything second hand. And then you have to remember that the 4t65 is a weak pile of shit that will probably break at 300hp and need a $2k+ rebuild with upgraded internals. They're fun cars when stock, and a great platform for modification - getting an extra 30-40hp can be done really cheap - like under $500 all you need is a 3.4" pulley, exhaust & tune, but it's not as cheap as everyone says to get big power out of one of these things.

Where do you go to get the 4t65 rebuilt with upgrades for 2000 plus Dollars.Any transmission shop will want to rebuild it to only stock specs and it would be at least 2500 minimum.if you want Internal upgrades that would quickly turn into a 4000 to 5000 dollar job because all shops try to rip you off these days and you can't bicker with them to lower the price.

Had a riviera. Gave it to my brother and its still on the original engine and transmission. Changed the SC pulley to a 3.5 and got a tune from intense racing. Still hauls ass. Oonly things that went bad were the alternator. Sc coupler and engine mount. Interior did start falling apart at around 200k miles

After it took the ’94 model year off, the Riviera returned with its eighth generation in 1995. It transitioned to the G-body platform that was used for the large Buick Park Avenue of 1997. Riviera’s wheelbase grew to 113.8 inches (from 108), and overall length increased from a paltry 187.8 inches to a more proper 207 inches. It was also a couple of inches wider and taller than the outgoing model. Buick needs to freak everyone out and revive the GNX on the Malibu platform. Turbo V-6 with 400 HP, MacPherson strut front suspension, 5 link rear suspension, upgraded interior compared to the Malibu, similar to the last Regal GS they made, price it fully loaded for under $45k!

400 hp isn't nearly enough today to bestow on a resurrected GNX nameplate, as back in the 80's these were basically as good as it got in terms of brute power within GM. A revived GNX would need to bring at LEAST 700hp to the table to be a serious contender, and honestly anything less would just be another watered-down cash grab- GM looting it's legacy trying to sell a mediocre product hoping the name is enough to stoke the nostalgia train. You're right on with the idea- but it would have to have full commitment from GM- we know how these things can go horribly wrong when they're done half-assed. It would need a large mid-size/full size coupe layout that is RWD just to start. GM has plenty of outstanding power trains on which to base their new turbo coupe, so much so that they can get creative. It doesn't have to be another small-block Chevy based powerplant, ALTHOUGH- the 4.3 LV3 V6 could be something really special if GM invested in a high-performance version. Honestly that would keep the new GNX at least true to it's roots- a large pushrod V6... GM axed that engine, with 22' being it's final year- if I'm not mistaken. Too bad GM doesn't have something like Stellantis' new Hurricane I6 family... That 3.0 HO cranks out 525hp- probably wouldn't be a stretch for a larger displacement version to be making 700-ish hp... I don't think GM is going to invest money in an all new engine family, what with the industry's current push toward total electrification... That said - I see ICE vehicles easily becoming a niche for high performance. There's no shortage of people whom love the sound and feel of a fuel-burning engine, and that likely won't disappear anytime soon. Even with soaring gas prices, there are plenty of people whom will pay-to-play so to speak.

If Chevy brought back the Chevelle SS with a 454 that had 700 or more HP to compete against the Challengers I think Ford would bring back to 429 Torino and we’d have a proper muscle car war again!

I was hoping you would mention the research and development that went into this Buick. Like the seats were specially designed with three different densities of foam. Making then comfortable fro drivers weighing 95 to 250 pounds. Or the 25 hertz body structure making it the first ever GM vehicle to still be able to open the door after being smashed in the front and the back. Very superior build quality.

Also, the dashboard was one piece mounted a single magnesium beam. Meaning no squeaks or rattles. Then the Riveria was the first GM car to use a new manufacturing process called hydro forming which created a part three times stronger than stamping. It was used on the A pillars to prevent caving in on a rollover. Pretty cool huh ?

@@Bleachanna I'll ask on the forum, but as much parts sharing as there is on the 8th gen Riv, I doubt it got its own specific turn signal stalk. I mean, the steering wheel is shared with other Buicks, the shift knob is shared with the 4th gen Camaro and I think also the Miata, and the door handles are shared with the C5 vette and a couple other vehicles.

Good luck finding one now that runs good and could handle the mods for 2500 I got lucky 8 years ago and found one that was showroom quality 29k miles and that was a steal at 8800 talked down from 12k but your eight on the ultimate sleeper another 6k later and I had a reliable daily 678whp 784 on the bottle (had no labor cost other than final dyno tune)

I LOVE RIVIERAS! I’ve owned 2 supercharged Rivs, both 1995, at different times. Still gorgeous. I called them my Planet Express ship. Of the three cars I owned at one time: Riv, Crossfire, Miata the Riv had the most brute power. Pushed you into the back of your seat. The Crossfire had to ‘wind up’ before it launched. Miata, well, beat both in fun factor and whipping around corners but is slower than my current Prius. I would love another Riv. It would have to be past 1995 though. That OBD 1.5 system was bullshit. Still Riv had features on it in 1995 that were not standard on my 2005 xfire.

I have a 95 Regal Gran sport ,and I love it. Sure, it's got 250,000 on the odometer. But I can still stomp the gas a still spin both the front wheels. Even the engine GM replaced the 3.8 with couldn't handle what I put the car I have though, It's all about having car's fall apart so you buy another one. In the future you won't see cars in the used car market past like 2005

This body is timeless. I had a 98. Right now I have a salvaged one. We are trying to see if we can put an LS1 in it. Keep the outside as original as possible. Total overhaul and a total new car.

An LS1 is a RWD engine so the Bellhousing will not fit. Maybe you are talking about the LS4, but the LS4 have a lot of problems. But if you are talking about the LS1, for all of the headaches it will give to you... maybe you should consider a Buick 350 because is the same 3800 plus two pistons. Land Rover use them util 2004 in 4.6 liters made in aluminum. LSx everything is something I don't like being a BOP guy.
